@PartyPooPer4256 so this isn't actually a thermostat or thermostat housing even though I said that a few times in the video, it's actually a coolant bypass hose. When searching online this part will come up when searching for the thermostat even though it's not that.

@@bobaganoosh88 not on mine. It cost over 3,000 dollars for a rear main. Gm rmp is to pull the head and drill the passage out

@user-sy5iu9lm7f especially on these trail blazers they will leak from the steering rack itself which means the steering rack might need to be replaced.

@KTK_Rockstar luckily I was able to use slightly larger screws in the plastic, it was the last time I used a power ratchet on those trim pieces! (Only someone who knows their shit would have caught that in the video!) Thanks for watching anyways 😆

By the way, I looked if you had another video installing a new throttle body. Did you have to make it "relearn" or it's just a throw-in, bolt-on and drive?

@sundayfundayLA yes sir, only the parts you saw me remove! I actually didn't have to remove the light at all, and I believe just a few retainers on the top of the bumper cover, and that's it! Good luck on your project!

@@shawncain1503 only if it is old oil that sits on it for an extended period of time. Something like this is harmless to a gasket of this type.

I missed when I took them out, yes, but I did talk about them when putting it back in and you can see where they go. Sorry the video wasn't structured in your favorite way! If I remember correctly I used a quarter inch ratchet and short 10mm and a ratcheting 10mm wrench

After removing I realized there's no thermostat, and then was informed by someone nicer than you that it was called the coolant bypass hose, but thank you for letting me know even if it was in a douche bag type of way!

@@bobaganoosh88 So you found out when you took it off that it wasn't the thermostat, but decided to call it the thermostat in your video anyway. It is also not the coolant "bypass hose". It's not a hose and doesn't bypass anything. Perhaps making expert how-to car repair videos isn't your true calling.

@jspatz1 I don't make expert car videos I make videos for regular people to fix their shit with whatever they have for tools. And I learned the correct name via the comments so yes I did name the video wrong because when I made it I thought it was still called that or something similar. @@bobaganoosh88 I fixed mine a couple of weeks ago, from watching a video by someone who knew what they were doing. I was able to buy the part because I knew what it was called. Not sure how you were able to buy the part. When you asked for a thermostat housing they should have sent you home with a thermostat housing.

yes a small amount on both sides. The gasket is designed to be used dry, so as long as the surfaces are clean, you're good to go!

No but it's pretty straight forward like this job. The small bolts holding the rail on are near the coil packs. Remove those 4-6 bolts and use a fuel line disconnect tool to remove the fuel line in the rear, unplug each injector, and it'll all come off with a small pry bar or big screwdriver. Make sure to replace the o rings on every injector.
