What color do you use for shading?

I’m just going to say something about when you draw horses. When you draw them you kinda have two different choices on how you draw the pupils. Some horses do have eyes that are kinda like a goats eye and others have eyes that are like ours.

When you draw, for example the mane or the cracks, the lines are sometimes thicker or thinner; is it only because of the pressure on the pen or is there something else ? My drawings look like shit because my lines have the same size everywhere. Any tips ?

not sure if the "marching ant line" (outlines of a selection is bothering you. Perhaps there is a setting to hide the outline sou you would have to see the lines dancing around your image for so long. (in Gimp the shortcut key is Shift+T, if I recall correctly)
