Enzo & Ella Adventures
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 22 ม.ค. 2023
Las Vegas based family of four who try to get outside and adventure as much as possible! We have our two kids: Enzo (age 7) and Ella (age 5) who (mostly) love to hike and be outdoors. We enjoy off-roading, camping, hiking, traveling to cooler weather to escape the Vegas heat(!) and visiting national parks. We have "Old Reliable," our 2001 Ford Expedition that we pack up and head out of town with. We are looking to upgrade the rig pretty soon, so we'll see...
Ash Meadows NWR: Devil's Hole & Longstreet Cabin
Devils Hole is a unique and fascinating geological formation located in a detached unit of Death Valley National Park, Nevada. It's particularly famous for being the only natural habitat of the critically endangered Devils Hole pupfish.
Key features of Devils Hole:
Water-filled cavern: It's a deep, water-filled cave system with a small, shallow shelf at one end.
Extreme environment: The water is hot, oxygen-poor, and has a constant temperature of around 93°F (33.5°C).
Endangered species: The Devils Hole pupfish, a tiny fish species, has adapted to this harsh environment and can only survive in this specific location.
Conservation efforts: Due to the unique and fragile ecosystem, significant conservation efforts are in place to protect the pupfish population.
Why is Devils Hole important?
Biodiversity hotspot: Despite its harsh conditions, Devils Hole supports a unique ecosystem.
Scientific research: It's a valuable site for studying extreme adaptations and the impact of climate change on ecosystems.
Conservation icon: The Devils Hole pupfish has become a symbol of endangered species conservation and the importance of protecting unique habitats.
If you're interested in learning more about Devils Hole and the efforts to protect its delicate ecosystem, I recommend visiting the National Park Service website or consulting scientific publications on the topic.
Longstreet Cabin is a historic stone cabin located in Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Nevada. It was built by Jack Longstreet, a legendary figure of the American West, in the late 19th century.
Longstreet, known as the "Last of the Desert Frontiersmen," was a prospector, horse breeder, and a bit of a mysterious figure. He chose this remote location for its natural spring, which provided a constant water source in the arid desert. The cabin, built into a mound above the spring, offered a cooler, more comfortable living space than the harsh desert climate.
Today, the cabin stands as a reminder of the area's history and the pioneering spirit of the American West. It's a popular destination for visitors to the refuge, offering a glimpse into the past and a connection to the rugged beauty of the Mojave Desert.

Was that kid scratching the walls at the end of the video? Why??
Unfortunately, yes, and his parents were right next to him. 😡 There is a sign on the trial that says not to deface the walls, but there may have been a language barrier. Thanks for watching!
His Dad must have called him "Boy"
“Dude” and “Buddy” are more or less his nicknames. Not sure if that is good or bad parenting… haha
