Tick vs Icaridin repellent
Does Icaridin insect repellent work against a Rocky Mountain spotted tick?
Supposedly it does, but watch what actually happens.

I just mow over the pile of leaves and twigs with my lawnmower...multiple times.
I gotta do this soon but if the bushing is that tight I'd be afraid I would split the headstock on a Gibson.
*No ticks were harmed in the making of this video*
Pff, that is a replica not a real insect *uh*

My mower deck is past repair. My mower engine is going to find a new home in one of these. Thank you for the idea.
You're welcome!
Warmoth should pay you and link to this as video manual on their site. Thanks for the simple, safe and effective approach!!
You're welcome!
Dang that’s disappointing. Permethrin is the only thing that seems to actually work
Hi Alan, an excellent low cost and very safe method of mounting bushings. I'll be using your method for Vintage Fender Precision reissue basses. This will make my jobs much safer. Thank you for uploading, Sal
You're very welcome Sal.

Wow I never seen a fish like that. I don't fish often like I used to, but the coolest thing I ever caught was a mudskipper. I let it go after examining it in amazement. Love your videos.
Have your tried feeding in cardboard and if so how did it turn out?
No never tried cardboard. Have no reason to try it.

@@jdfixit1 13 inches. It's not that critical though.

Glad it helped!
That's not a rainbow. That's a brown trout. Yiu can tell by the spotting and the square paddle tail. 100% confident that's a brown
Great idea. It's amazing how much bio material gets burned instead of made into mulch. Thanks for posting, God Bless...
*Grey quality boot>>>**allabout.wiki/0ebk** I'm a size eleven in regular shoes so I ordered the eleven after reading mixed reviews of it working for some and not others. But my toes still had 3 to 4 extra inches without waders on. Way to big. I have now ordered the 10s and still way to large even with wool socks and my waders. so i am sending those back pending refund from the company for some reason and have ordered the 9s im thinking they should work.... hopefully*
Really awesome
Why not just run over the pile of brush with the old lawnmower? Just cover the discharge with sheet metal and your good to go. I do it that way.Using a chipper or shreader takes twice as long.
Try it. You'll see how ineffective it is.
It does not work try it
I have tried it, works like a charm, just be careful to wear high boots, heavy jeans and good eye protection. Very good at chewing up grape vines, makes good mulch out of all sorts of garden waste. Biggest downside was cleaning up the mess behind the garage.
Can't you just put a hole in the top of the lawn mower?
There isn't enough room to put a decent sized hole. It needs to be about 4" or more diameter. And you need enough room underneath where all the mulch ends up.
Smartest idea ever I always hated installing those bushings
no damage except that big dent in the lacquer where the cutting board was (min 1:12)
There is no dent there at all, never mind a big one. Not sure what you're seeing.
Love the idea and amazing results. thank you for sharing.
Well done, I've also filmed a few grizzlies in that area, it seems the closure of Hwy 40 between December and May gives them a lot of undisturbed space so they benefit from it.
Brilliant, thank you.
Does it shred plastic?
It would chop it into pieces if not too thick.
This is so great. Thanks for the help!
That's epic. I did it that way. I put a little gun wax on the bushings to reduce the fiction. Works great. Thank you...very clever.
Impressive wildlife video
so... how many people using this are still alive?
All of them. A lot of dead plants though.
It makes a fine mulch I see... perhaps I can use this to try making my experimental prestologs with the mulch.
if you put some kind of "cross bar" or "T-bar" on your push stick, it could stop just before touching the blade...
Yeah, a simple thing like that would prevent it. Thanks.
They look like nice thick felt. What brand are they?
Compleat Angler brand.
Nicely done. It was a perfect solution for me and worked like a charm installing some Waverly tuners bought by a customer and installed by me for the first time on a new uke I made him.
The best solution found yet! Congrats. A great idea. Will try it asap.
You're welcome---it works well and not too involved to build it either. That counts for a lot in my books.
My parents had an Electrolux when I was a kid in the sixties. That thing was built like a tank and would suck up a sock if you weren't careful. I always wanted one since then, but could not afford one. Most of the vacuums that I could afford, were a huge disappointment. A few months ago, I found an old Olympia model for 50 bucks, plus shipping. I bought it, and it works great. I thought I was losing suction, so I bought a new motor for it, and I bought a new hose. I have not had to change the motor yet, because the section problem was just a clogged hose. The new hose worked great. The problem I had at first, and the reason I bought the new hose, was because the power nozzle would not stay plugged into the old hose. The power nozzle worked at first...but you had to hold it in an awkward way to get it to stay on. Then, suddenly...shortly after I got the new hose, the power nozzle stopped working. I bought another power nozzle, and it doesn't work either. The beater bar will not turn. I am not sure what the problem is. It could be that the hose and power nozzle are somehow incompatible, or maybe it needs a new power nozzle motor, or maybe the belt broke...I just don't know. The rest of the vacuum still works great. But, before I spend any more money, buying new parts, I need to get a better idea of what the problem could be.
If you can hear the motor going inside the power nozzle, but it's not turning, then the belt is probably broken.Easily replaced. A cover underneath is held on with a couple of Philipps screws so you can see inside. If you can't hear the motor running in the power nozzle, then there is a poor connection in a wire or the connector supplying power to the nozzle. An appliance repairman should be able to check/fix that very easily. It's very unlikely the motor suddenly just died.
Thanks. I am going to have someone check the connections on the new hose, to see if it is getting any power. There are two different places that the power nozzle plugs in.I am going to have them both checked.
Rare Black Rainbow trout? Where? I caught a 16" trouser snake trying to feed on some eggs between my legs but he got away and I couldn't quite get a good shot..
Great way to save $800. it's on my to do list. Thanks for idea.
Put 2 blades on it at 90 dgr from each other so it has twice the cutting ability. They will both need to be in balance. Works better then my 6.5 HP ___________ Machine that loves to spit stuff back at you when you use it. it should chop up branches but it won't do it. if its dry wood forget it.
Nice idea thanks
Seems like a good variation on this would be to use something like a 55 gallon steel drum and build a mount which allows you to attach the lawnmower deck to the barrel. That way, you an still use your lawnmower as a lawn mower, especially if you had some sort of sturdy locking latch for easy attach/remove.
Just buying a used mower for $25 and doing it this way was simplest. With a steel drum you need a cutting torch, with plastic one I just used a sabre saw to cut the holes in it.
How well does this work with leaves? Do they also get well cut up or do many drop through the blade(s) without being mulched. I wonder if putting a screen (with 1/2"-1" openings) just under the blades would hold leaves enough so that they would be cut/mulched until they dropped through the openings. Also, what are the limits for twigs...have you mulched small branches with 1/4"-1/2" stems/twigs?
I tried it yesterday and most leaves fall through without much cutting occuring. Plant stalks and small branches are better.
Thanks for letting me know.
For mulching leaves you could put a board, the same diameter of the barrel, a few inches below the blades. cut a hole in one side of the wood so the mulch can drop down into the barrel. Basically, you want to simulate the ground being under the cutting deck. This is how a mower mulches, it circulates the leaves between the mower and ground to chop up the leaves into tiny little bits. Make the board removable so when you are cutting up stalks and such you can just remove it.
