    According to tenor saxophonust Neil Sarfati, Hubbard bungled the production. But you can hear how FIRE the band could get on this one. I think they only recorded on a few tracks, the musicians could not hear themselves via monitors and there were minimal takes - essentially recorded live to tape while they were at port. This was when Hubbard was dodging the IRS and took to the sea on the Scientology ship. NUTSO story! But the band, by all accounts, were tight AF and was killer live. Unfortunatly the record is a dodgy but given the circumstances under which it was recorded it's pretty extrordinary!

    Bugs put out more great recordings than any other Artist in my Collection. He, Warren Haynes and Eric Clapton put the pedal to the medal. I was turned on to his 1st album in 1978 and have been a fan ever since. One of the greatest entertainers... My son & I got to meet him and his son 'Buddy' and we listened to them play in Pendleton, Oregon to a very small crowd of about 80 people. A VERY underrated and under-appreciated artist...

  • @Marc-zi4vg
    @Marc-zi4vg 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    For future viewers of this video : the Californian spiritualist comments here are a reference to a popular mod for hearts of Iron 4, a grand strategy wargame. The mod is called red flood, set in an alternate world where WW1 lasted far longer and bloodier, resulting in a more drastic societal changes post-war in which while America didn't join the war but the resulting changes caused various factions, in addition of the great depression caused many parties to form and caused a civil war, and if you pick spiritualist (Scientologist) California to unify America, this music plays.
