Replacing Hyundai Coupe Door Actuators
It's been a few weeks as I've been struggling with software but here is how I changed the door actuator /latches to get the central locking working properly again on my Hyundai Coupe. There's a video on syncing your key fob to the car if that's your problem on my channel as well.

This video was filmed before the previous bumper jobs so is a bit out of sequence but should give you a look at removing the door card for whatever reason you need to take it off

This vlog is to show the removal and painting of the lower rear bumper to match the body coloured front bumper. It's also a really good chance to do some rust proofing. Having taken the batteries out to clean the 13 year old key fobs the central locking system was not happy, however no dealer trip was required to fix it

Hi there, is the thermostat sensor you mention here the same as coolant temperature sensor?
Hi, yes it is, very simple system, one to check the coolant temp and another sensor for the level
@@pointlessroadtrips9580 I know that the level sensor is on the left top end of the rad. The thermostat switch you mention in the video which you unplug from the bottom of the radiator, is this the same thing as the coolant temperature switch. Thanks for the help and quick reply btw! Great video

@@pointlessroadtrips9580ah my poor reading if anything! Ah okay so that one sensor controls both the fans and the coolant flow? Apologies for lack of experience, only 24 and just bought a 205.
That sensor will basically either tell the fan to turn on or if it gets too hot will put the warning light in the dash. The coolant flow is controlled by a traditional thermostat which is essentially a device that will get hot and allow the water to flow through the radiator from the engine block. It has no electrical switch, completely mechanical. It is where the metal coolant pipe connects to a rubber pipe from the main engine block. Hope all this helps!

Hi, it has the single injector essentially so I guess you could just check the model and try and find a slightly bigger one but the ECU is not very 'clever' if you know what I mean so I think it may just end up running rich. I was always worried that something would go out of tolerance and it wouldn't adjust itself! Beyond that my engine knowledge is very limited unfortunately!

Wow - thanks so much. That tip at the end about putting the key just in-between the acc and the on was great. Wasn't working the normal way then instantly paired when i balanced the key in-between. Thanks

How did you know those 2 were the problem ones? I have the same fault so I don't have any beeping.
Short answer is during a service the Volvo specialist scanned the codes. It came back as faults on sensors 2 and 3. Volvos have a specific software which makes finding faults on a generic code reader difficult. Otherwise there are guides on holding a hand close to the sensor and seeing which seems off but that's assuming they work sometimes.

My friend i have installed an alarm system to my tiburon, and the alarm company gave me extra 2 alarm key fobs , so i had 4 key fobs( 2 copy and 2 original ) and for some reason i had to uninstall the alarm to go back to my car's stock electrical system... and after uninstalling the alarm system my original key fobs seems not working...what do you suggest ?
Hello, unfortunately all I can suggest is the procedure in this video as it's supposed to sync the fobs back to the car, if this doesn't work I don't know. If you know an auto electrician they may be able to help
You sure those wires isn't predrawn? Lots of other cars have all the wires, even if it's not coming with the accessories. Thinking as you obviously had the brackets for the lights, at least. But I don't know in this case..
Hello, I changed the bumper so the original one didn't have the brackets but these 205s really are basic, they didn't bother putting stuff in if the model didn't come with it. The grill space is there for rear speakers but they didn't bother with the wiring or speakers for example

Well, i changed the matrix and heating is still poor. Any idea what to do next ? Both hoses are hot, water circulating. Maybe pollen filter, if there is one ?
That would be my thinking, If the water side is all good, what about the air side? Is the fan clean and pulling air through, and if someone has fitted a pollen filter it could be pretty full now, don't think mine had one. Potentially try to clean out the vents with a powerful vacuum cleaner?
Great video... I looked in the haynes manual (I've got a 309) nothing at all about the matrix apart from a diagram of the sysytem as a whole. Autodata manual was a bit better , but used the phrase 'remove the the heater matrix behind the fascia' That was it in total... Which I thought meant take it all to bits . You confirmed that. Thanks.

Hi, I don't have the coupe any more but even a couple of years ago finding spares was really hard, i think your best bet is finding a breakers yard with on, or having someone make one to match from the other side. Unless things have improved for spares most bits I got were used

Thanks for the video. Same problem as you, and I was fortunate enough to find the lock actuators sold in a pair for $83.00 US.
That's a good find!
Aliexpress is now selling all the Genuine Hyundai Mobis parts like the door handles and their covers, the actuators and the door grab handles, prices are not too bad. They are all bagged up and badged up as original parts, they might be fakes but if they are they are good ones that do the job just fine.
Parts are really getting hard to find so if you can get something that works for you then definitely give it a go!
Great video. My cooling fan works on the doagnostic switch but doenst come on by itself. Im missing the resistor for the other plug, was hoping by putting a piece of wire between the points it would work by itself, but its not so im hoping replacing the switch will fix

I'm struggling to get the silver surrounds off to remove buttons. You twisted yours easily, why won't mine come off? Any tips?
I think the clips were pretty weak on mine. It is fiddly but if you can get your hand in underneath you should be able to push the clips in a bit, otherwise slide a blunt knife between them and the plastic
Had to get the BCM changed and every thing works except the fobs. Even this method isn't working
I'm not sure what to suggest. If the bcm is different then there may be issues with the keys. Is the alarm going off when you open it with the key?

Hi, if this doesn't fix the problem you might want to watch my vid on replacing the door actuators and see if you have the same symptoms
This will only work with the keyfob that originally comes with the car like when a battery change goes wrong, if you are trying to sync up a new or different remote you need the dealer to program it in.
What size are the 4 bolts.

Might need to clean them battery terminals I would recommend this because since the battery is in the back your alternator already needs to work hard enough why make it work even harder Chris Fix has a guide on how to remove corrosion properly.

How comes this Peugeot 205 is left hand drive when it's a British registered K plate car? Did you originally buy this car and import this car from France?
Hi. It isn't left hand drive. Some of these are from the days when the phone camera filmed opposite and I didn't flip the image. Sorry!
what if i only have a key? it just keeps lock unlock lock unlock when i get out the car, and i only close/open the passanger manually

Unfortunately you need to get to a screw on the outside edge of the dashboard so you will need to open the door

Honestly I had a real struggle to find new parts. I would probably ask a dealer and see from there
ive read it is possible just to remove the outer shell without losening the bolts inside the car. Do you think that is do-able?
It's a while a ago and I think from memory it was a lot easier to take the whole thing off. Some of the bolts were awkward and tabs could snap but it can be done I'm sure

Hi again, if you reach diagonally down from the dipstick, it is directly behind there, quite high up and a bit awkward. Hopefully you can spot it now!

Hi, I know it's hard to tell as the driver's seat is all the way forward but I didn't swap the tails round just moved the spacers from the bottom to the top and get rid of the thicker spacers that were already on the top. Hope that makes sense

Hmmm...this was a really useful video thanks dude. I happen to have a Citroen Dispatch 2000 plate and am having issues with the heating so very encouraging. It doesnt look as complicated to get the heater matrix as I thought. :)
