@@brenph that was the goal, keep it fast and don’t let anyone recover. Hats off to Joe for sticking with it to the end and smashing it up the climb. Massive effort. I wasn’t able to keep up at the end, my legs were spent.

@@brenph I saw that - that man is a hard man to break. It’s a shame because we really enjoyed racing against him and the banter between you two is always comedy gold. But that certainly makes for an interesting finale in the final two races! It’s wide open now.

@@brenph haha it was me you were cursing out after the aqueduct KOM. I had some momentum when I hit the front, so I thought I wouldn’t waste it and just stuck a dig in to “test the waters”. There was 0 chance I was staying away from the pack to the end, but thought it might spice things up a bit. If someone decides to join me, maybe we can make a break stick. But I was left dangling out there, so I just drifted back relatively quickly. Sorry 😛

@@brenph yeah I felt sorry for you, just as you sat up to take a breath and got bad stitch, that’s exactly when I went. Bad timing. Although I think I ultimately ended up burning a match I needed for the final climb. That was a slog.

Thanks Ian. Certainly no offence was meant. The early conversation was teams we wanted to challenge in the league and I could only remember the teams ahead of us. “Never look in the rear view mirror”.

None taken. I think you missed our group on the last descent as you eased and dropped back. We closed quickly as there was a few of us together, plus we had 4 Herd in that pack which made the finish more entertaining. See you next week.

@@iancooke244 yes. That’s exactly what happened. Eased as our riders 4 and 5 were dropped up the back of the sgurr and there was no point finishing without one of them! We were all just so hyper focused that we didn’t see your group closing the gap on the descent. Hence our confusion during the race.
