Subaru Forester Off Road | Port Waikato NZ

The Subaru Forester is, in fact, a pretty capable little off-roader. Sure, it doesn't have a ton of articulation or low range, but watch this video and see just some of the potential these cars have!

Subaru Forester '97 mud donut attempts

My 1997 SF5 Subaru Forester T/TB having a bit of fun off road in the Forestry outside of Whangamata, NZ.
Mathieu, what is the artist and the name of the background music? Excuse me for going off topic.
Appreciate the video mate. Im am currently looking at getting a Brutale and saw a rivale come up for sale. You mentioned it was more tame, can you still have fun with it? Will it lift the front as easy?
What is there performance on wet and in snow?
Can you drive there? Which road is entry from?
Thanks for the time, man. It's honest non-sponsored videos like this that people are looking for.
Im in Auckland i got a subaru Foerster with a snorkel goes mean
How far down the beach is that right turn off into the dunes?
Yeah start of the vid is right by the river mouth
Was looking at one of these but dang the very small gas tank made me think twice. It may go 90 miles before having to fill up again and that's the only reason I passed on the bike.
The Aprilia Dorsoduro has a similar issue
@@matdaymon I got a 2014 honda valkyrie now and love that bike. But was going to get this bike but sometimes we ride the mountains where there isn't a gas station for 100 miles and would easily run out of gas. To bad I like the bike
Hey mate do you still have this car?
Sadly no. Sold it about a year ago. Was a good beast but wasn’t using it so moved it on to someone who would.
these only lasted 3 years?
Yup, they were still technically ok to keep driving on when I swapped them out but they'd done HEAPS of crappy highway driving. My commute was 160km A DAY when I filmed this.
@@matdaymon wow ok im gonna buy it!! Because there are not much reviews for this tire... and this is the only all terrain that i have a size on here in canada
@jose rodriguez update please
@jose rodriguez that's great!!! I'm gonna buy one here too. I live in Ph so I hope it's not hard to find. Thank you!
40,000km is very good value. my forester has hifly hf201's cheap tyres and they have done 15,000 and almost bald on the front lol.
Your audio sucks.
Sounds great to me.. samung galaxy android phone
Smart Load
Too much music
I found a new Zealand you tuber yayy😂 I'm looking for forester for my first car, love yours looks real good
Thanks mate. She’s a good old workhorse 😎
I had a little impreza that did this, crazy offroad capabilities. Most people go with big trucks but the small light stuff is awesome and gliding up any tracks or beaches
Any tips on modifying the t/tb for performance
Depends how far you wanna go mate. My first t/tb I went with a manual conversion (WRX or Forester s/tb gearbox and pedal set), Version 4 STI ECU, injectors and airflow meter. A Turbosmart electronic boost controller set to 12psi and 15psi respectively, Zerosports intake off an Apexi pod filter and a 2.5" catless exhaust from the turbo back. Netted 184kw at the wheels which was plenty fast. This one I've left stock apart from a cheap stainless exhaust manifold/uppipe as I went through 2 junkyard factory replacements in 6months.
Had the same last year, sold it. Real fast and nimble bike. When i reach 200kmh or so, the bike still goes, but the high seat height make wind drag unbearable and i felt uneasy.. everywhere it goes, people look at it with awe.. ride safe🏍
cant wait to get mine delivery
Bape 47 looks like you has yours for a wile how the bike been so far any problems want to get one but not sure heard tail lights go out constantly.
@@orales5560 i got the bike but im not happy with the starter so i sold that bike and get an BMW S1000R
Bape 47 Yea I heard. really big problem on them got me a Ducati hypermotard let’s see how this treads me. thanks for the info tho big help
Jean Disla yeah mv agusta is really nice bikes but they have a problem with the starter without it all good,I love BMW
What’s the problem with the starter? I’m looking at buying one second hand. Any advice?
do you not use the clutch for shifting up? or let off the throttle? or are you just that good that i can't tell haha
The MV has a quickshifter from factory so no need to use the clutch to change up gears. Still need it for shifting down though. I WISH I was good haha
haha sweet thanks I'm getting one for my upgrade and i have been doing my research as usual when it comes to getting a new bike and you have helped me a lot thanks man ride safe out there :)
Thanks mate, I appreciate the feedback! Stay shiny side up out there
cool :)
Yeah it is :) thanks for the share mate!
what a beast!
Mine just arrived today but in the shop for another ten days for customizing. What did you think of 'er? I'm 180cm and thinking you're about the same so wondering how you felt bout the ride?
Hey mate, I'm 176cm and found it perfectly comfortable. My knees sat just below a right angle which was incredibly comfortable, especially on longer trips. I used the bike to commute 70km a day for a week and never found it too small or uncomfortable and rode for almost a whole day on the weekend I had it with no worries. May have gotten a little lost in fact... What changes are you making to yours?
Thanks Mathieu, thats good to know. Here in Japan, the SR400 is everywhere as you are probably aware. But average height is lower, and I have nothing to compare to. Appreciate your response. Sounds like you're enjoying the SR and a whole day's ride is longer than I expected with the vibration. Well, the customizing business is huge in Japan, and the SR400 is the bike of choice it seems. But Im doing , what they call "light custom": small fairing, seat, pipe and tank pads. Might get a saddle bag and smaller lights on back. Just the light customizing is adding up! will post a video when I get the bike next week. cheers....
Nearly toppled over
Yeah, silly me forgetting to check the side stand hadn't moved. Good thing it's a very light little bike! Could have had some explaining to do.
Hot. I so want to hop on the seat after you get her fired up and take her for a proper ride.
It is definitely worth a ride!
