My son was born with a heart condition and before he was a week old he had his first surgery. I lived at the hospital for at least 5 monthsThere were so many things coming off him. I was scared to hold him. When i did hold him everyone made a big deal about us falling asleep together. He is 2 1/2 now well almost. He is the best little thing in this world besides his baby brother. He is almost 6 months old.. Oldest born 4/1/22 and my new baby was born 3/31/24. Hope your family the best.

My grandaughter was born at 28 weeks. She had so many blood transfusions, born with a hole in her heart . All i can remember is looking in her incubator through all the tubes and wires, willing for her to keep going, desperately waiting for that 1st cuddle. She's now a gobby 14yrd, giving everybody grief, but she's so worth it❤❤

This brought me back memories. I held mine a week after he was delivered by C-Section at 30 weeks. He weighed 3 pounds. You will hold in your heart that feeling no matter how old. Mine is 39 now! Beautiful baby !!!

Had a premature baby in 1975 two and a half pounds . He is 48 now . I had him in St Luke’s hospital San Francisco and they transported him to mt Zion hospital in San Francisco where they had preemie Care . He did well . My first baby I was 21 and had a second baby in 79 he was an 8 pound boy . They told me with my first I had an incompetent cervix . But when I told my new ob , he said No . Did you go into labor , I did 14 hours not counting the pain at home all night . So he insisted with an incompetent cervix you don’t go into labor . I worried my whole second pregnancy until I was 8 months ! Then I knew he was big enough to be born ! I ended up being 3 days late ! My zdr said I went to extremes 2and a half pound baby to 8 pounds . I guess I did . Hope your baby is doing well . ❤

As a mom of premature twins, it was the hardest thing to leave the hospital without my babies. Hang in there mama, before you know it she'll be like a hurricane in your house. Mine are now 12, and you'd never guess they were ever premature.
