Yooo I have, and LOVE my Affinity Strat. I've done work on frets, perfect neck, plays amazing. Needs electronics!!! Affinity bodies are NOT full size, do you know if this pickguard will drop in?
Fellow Boss Drive edition owner here. I've been playing 25 years. It's the best amp that I've ever owned and I've owned quite a few tube amps prior to it. It's very easy to take to a gig or jam session. I've never had trouble keeping up. Just an FYI in case you were not aware: this is Roland's take on the Marshall Bluesbreaker amp (the non-Boss Drive Blue Cube Hots are a Fender Bassman take). These are quite rare. Great video and congrats on the amp.
I dont understand why youd bother putting up a video with such trash audio and playing
What a wicked frame you chose. To make me dream of tunes. No, I didn’t want to fall in love. No, I did t want to fall in love… with it.
Cual es el fender y cual es el marshall?? No entiendo ingles
Totally agree, just like a pro reverb tube amp.
Can I put a humbucker in the bridge position in the squier stratocaster SE guitar?
@cristoloco83 yes you sure can. It's routed for one
Does this amp take a power supply?
I traded in my budget guitar and $350 I bought a 2018 butterscotch fender player telecaster ( 7.5 lbs) in great condition... The tele is awesome guitar and I really like the butterscotch. And I'm done with Chinese guitars.... I'm at home with Fender ( 🇺🇸 and Mexican) guitar ❗ From looking at the fretboard the guitar wasn't played a lot.....
@iamanovercomer3253 no this one was new. I just went through and upgraded everything on this and tinted the neck and amber color. I'm going to post a video soon. It killer now.
I have one .. Have a "PEARLY GATES " in the bridge .. Guitar sounds great if you have great amp .. My amp is over 50 years old ..Yours sounds great as it is .. Should buy the guitar with all the mods needed .. Way too much work to do the mods , with the cost of the mods .. But you did fine .. Wish mine sounded as good with the modded bridge pup .. Nice axe .. Saw when they came out , they got great reviews .. Mine is not a Sonic.. .. Good Luck ..
@loupascarelli i love to mod guitars and build kits so it's right up my alley. I just finished it i will.post a follow up video soon.
Seems like Harley Benton is facing some serious competition now...
@mrbesserwisser7447 the only issue with Harley Benton in my area is the shipping costs on top of the guitar. It's rather expensive to ship to Idaho
I have this guitar too. For 179 dolars it's good. I changed the pickpus for a pair os Fender Tex-Mex. Sounds much better now.
Awesome job man!!
@@joubiecanari7162 thanks I appreciate that
@@samwood3816 my pleasure
No barr chords for me lol
Dude, the finish is amazing!! What did you use?
@@jamesquinn8302 I used a black grain filler, sanded back then a red and black keda dye. Followed with 2k clear. Wet sanded and buffed
Thank you so much!!! I plan on doing this exact kit soon, you have a new subscriber!
@@jamesquinn8302 awesome thank you
Not bad. But it's actually a B minor barre chord.. but, like any song. You can play it however you want.. long as the timing is correct..
should have tuned your guitar first. nice effort
Hey we can’t all be perfect lol
Slant A quad for gigs with 100watt Marshall, not that, need valves glass tubes not transistors, does it have a tuner, might help
It does not have a tuner built in. I took it to a outdoor gig last Thursday and it was plenty loud enough and has a great tone to it. It cuts through very nicely
@samwood3816 awesome glad you're enjoying 😉
thank you for very clean review 🙂
You're welcome thank you for watching
Thank u ! U made it so understandable
You are very welcome
Tune that guitar mate
You lost me immediately after you said solid state
I have tube amps also but tend to play through this one more. It's pretty impressive for solid state.
Sounds like its got delay, chorus, and some reverb on it. I've been interested in one of these. Sounds good man.
Thank man. It’s got reverb and a little delay on yes.
I love your amp ! How bad were the BexGears tuners ? What is the BexGears neck like ? ..compared to the maple fretboard one ?
Thanks it’s definitely a great amp. I didn’t use the tuners that came with it. They did seem cheap. The neck is fantastic one of the best out of all my guitars. The maple board on the other tele I built was very thick but a nice neck.
Sounds like a great practice amp
It’s definitely more than just a practice amp. Took it to a gig last week and I am blown away by how good it is
I bought an orange 35RT from the pawn shop, it's a little beast. I can band practice with it, depending on who the drummer is,,,lol
@BIgOleDave-op5cp I had an orange like that for a short time. I ended up trading it off before I really had a chance to play through it much though
It's a fact that senior players don't look at solid state gear, and that young players have never played vintage amps, and are fooled by this weak offering.
@@samwood3816 Wise move. Mine is gathering dust due to the gain channel dying on me. Just out of warranty. Never again Orange!
It takes pedals well too. I only downside is that it doesn't have an effects loop.
I usually don’t use a effects loop so that’s not a big issue for me
Thanks for being so quick and straightforward.
You bet, thanks for watching
Cool., Thank-you.
Your welcome. Thank you
Badass
Thank you
Nice ! You really got me thinking about getting a kit. I want a 335 but maybe should start with a telecaster.
A tele is going to be a little easier for a first kit. But there are plenty of videos on 335’s to help you out
looks great
Thank you I appreciate that
I've gotten a handful of cheap eBay necks and they're generally great for the money. I level, crown, polish the frets on all of them and put a Tusq nut. A few of them have been warped, had off-center radius, terrible fret-end treatment, broken truss rod, etc but it's easy enough to send them back. I make my own bodies so I carve the neck pocket custom to each neck but just from measuring them I know they are usually off from OE Fender/Squier spec. The neck heel thickness & angle is usually hit or miss too. Be ready to add a shim.
Nice, yeah, I had to shim this one also and put a tusq nut on it as well. All in all, it's a great neck, though.
I got a 22 fret maple with black clay inlays for a frankie project and while it was perfectly serviceable i did sand the neck back to relic and refinish with gunstock oil its a great neck. theres a guy that sells legit pyramid inlay ibanez necks for around 300 that look gorgeous in the photos and theres alot of real crappy looking ones for cheap also i would love to do a passion and warfare dipped gem with one.
A lot of these budget necks don't use glue on the frets, so try to tap the high frets with a fret hammer before leveling the frets. You may save yourself some work. Good luck!
I bought on of those necks too. And I agree, it's not a bad neck at all. I had to level the frets too. I'm surprised your video is the only one I've seen reviewing on of these.
I just put it on my build and I’m pretty impressed with it honestly
Thanks for the review. Those cleans are gorgeous. After 30 years of playing, I'm finally looking at tube amps. This is up there for me.
It’s an outstanding amp. You will definitely love the sound from a tube amp when you get one
Before leveling the frets, I would check the fit in the neck pocket of the body you're going to put it on. Also, are the tuner holes compatible with the tuners you plan to use? These things help determine if the neck is worth keeping, or if you want to return it or sell it.
The neck measures correctly and the tuners are the correct size. I’m going to fit it to the body today and do a follow up
Thanks for doing the review !
Thanks for watching.
I started playing guitar a year ago. Bought a cheap Donner and upgraded it. I enjoy working on guitars as much as I do playing them. I really enjoy your channel!
Thank you I really appreciate that. I really enjoy working on guitars I always have a project going.
Need some music playing over your opening
I’m still learning all this editing stuff but I will definitely get some on these when I figure out how to lol
my very first electric was Sebring
They are pretty impressive honestly
Great tone nice and airy and twangy.
Thank you I appreciate it
Didn't know that Fetterman could play guitar. lol
When you put the gain on and played that E blues riff it sounded just like T-Rex Bang a Gong.
Thats the riff I was playing lol
love hollow and semis , birdland is my fav.
Semi and hollow body guitars just have a vibe to them. Great stuff
Great job !!
Thanks I appreciate it
👏👏👏
Thank you
Excellent performance!
Thank you
@@samwood3816 , you’re welcome.
Nice repair work on that Hamer, it looks great now. I'm looking forward to a demo.
Thanks man I appreciate it I will have some good stuff coming up soon
@@samwood3816 , you’re welcome.
Never heard of that brand. Let me search it.......... Ok, it was bought by Fender in 2008, but has now ceased operations. Started in 1973, acquired by Kaman in 1988, which produced the Slammer series built in Asia. That was a budget series.
Yes it is considered a budget series. It is a mahogany body though and feels extremely nice to play.
Just did one .its the way to go .bravo
Thanks I appreciate it
