The Planet Nightclub opened in Pirie Street in 1994 and quickly became one of Adelaide’s premier nightclubs. In the early 2000’s a multimillion-dollar feud erupted over the nightclub. It's doors closed back in 2004 and the building has sat abandoned ever since.

I used to party there with my mates and girlfriend back in the day awesome memories pity the younger generation will never experience anything quite like it
The oaks tavern in the 80s. Every weekend 😅😅
I worked at the ANZ and after work I would shower wear my dancing clothes/ shoes. Just cross the road to Planet & dance until I drop dead, every Friday and on weekends.I knew one of the bodyguards.😊 Best years of my life 1998-2001.❤❤❤❤
Spent every Friday getting wasted to creed in the late 90's here. Great nostalgia hit. Thanx
1999-2000 I was aka as "The Planet King" on the dance floor with one nemesis "Renegade" on the dance floor. Meet my wife here back in 2000, try to teacher her & her friends how to dance on the floor unfortunately still married ladies 😝Good memories if someone could hunt down the photographer who snapped pics for the dance competitions back in 1999-2000 I'd love copies to show the kids. Still display in the mancave VIP membership 😁 I'll have to add this era & the best night club Adelaide ever had to a TH-cam short film that's in the pipeline. Thanks for uploading 👍
Loved this full support from us
Amazing video
Very sad, fond memories. The hours I spent there clubbing from 1998 until it closed. Reminisce the good times.
It’s a shame but good memories the best yrs ever back then 98 I was 18 there lol 😝 I missed my day… good music
I would've walked past you many of times in the Planet as I was 18 back in 1998 going from RnB upstairs to the Dance beats in the main arena. I miss the 90s. Club Classics for life😍
I remember setting up and setting off indoor pyrotechnics , but you don't forget the sticky beer soaked floors . Was a very busy place on our even hectic busy schedule s thanks A Team
So many good memories, thank for the video!
50 cent beers, 50 cent beers!!!
I met my wife 22 years ago on that dance floor... Such a shame it's been demolished...
Oh the nostalgia - the countless nights I spent here! It was basically my second home. Friday nights was Hit Factory (Top 40) and Saturday was Pleasuredome (Dance and House) with DJ Souli, DJ R-Mac and DJ Re-Lax! They were a great line-up and would keep the place pumping until about 4:30am without fail! I distinctly remember that PlanetCash at 1:40 - it's likely worth less than the paper it's printed on now!! 😂
What a shame it got demolished let alone stayed unused for 10 years fucking amazing club and those lunchtime curries
Good choice of song i remember $30 all you can drink nights in the early 2000's good job on putting up the video
Don't forget the foam parties too!!
December 1995 I don't remember anything but being dragged out by the bouncers. Everything else is lost in a blur of beers and JD and Coke. What a trip. :D
Thanks for putting this up! Great video and perfect music!
Epic setup for a club TBH...no reason it had to die like it did
Great tunes to match. Nicely done
This is pure 90s heritage and must be preserved.
Er - it has been demolished just weeks ago.
damn
It was demolished to make way for a 20-storey office complex. Like we don't have enough of those already! 🤣
This place was awesome back in the day. Partied hard there from 1998-2004 when it closed. Good times, man I miss the 90's.
I stood on that front door from 1997 to 2002 Happy memories - had a ball miss everyone
what a waste of a building to just leave it like that, why would anyone do this.
the place seemed endlessly big back in the day, can now see why. Great memories.
Oh my that was my second home. Was the best in its day. The good times I had in there will always be etched in my memories. Sad now 🥲
What a shame. I spent many a night there doing things that were probably illegal. Good times.
Was it just left like this since its closure? Looks huge.
Yep, sitting abandoned, collecting dust for over 16 years😢
Hello AwesomeAdelaide , Great video . I subscribed to you! by the way, if you (or anyone else) like adventure/exploration videos, new subscribers are always welcome on my channel. youtubers unite and support eachother! : )
how do you get in a couple friends and i want to go take photos
I certainly like the video idea, I think it'd be nice if you included narration over the top as well. Throw in some history, you've pretty much already written it with your excellent write up on your site. Then chuck in some personal experiences with the place, like how it sounds, feels, what to look out for etc. Just my thoughts though :P I enjoy all the work you do regardless.
Thanks Ignyte! Definitely food for thought. We'll definitely be trying out more videos in the future. Appreciate your comments man.
this ia great man 🖒 awesome to see inside - also loved the fallout music vibe. you should do more walk through vids
Definitely trying more walk through vids. Glad you like it man.
Great video Wildstar! Made me feel like I was inside! Also, that was a relatively clean abando too!
