They sure loved those "phile" questions. I really doubt that a baby fish are called frys. I liked that music though.
@StonedMickey Thank you for sharing your thoughts! The "phile" questions are definitely a favorite among word enthusiasts. As for baby fish being called fry, it’s actually correct-it's a term used in ichthyology. I’m glad you enjoyed the music too! Thanks for participating and engaging with the challenge.
A male horse who’s been castrated, had their balls removed, is called a gelding. A male horse who’s hasn’t had them off is called a stallion. A male horse under 2 years old is called a colt.
Yeah, you tell them. I was going to reply the same thing but you beat me to it.

34/35 I was always under the impression that “blue in the face” meant to be angry! 😁
@carmbe56 Thank you so much for participating and scoring 34/35! You were very close. 'Blue in the face' actually means to do something to the point of exhaustion or frustration, often from trying too hard. It's a common mix-up, but great job! Keep up the good work!
@@EnglishNotebook13 that would make me angry… haha
Red inthe face

I'm wondering if these nice idioms are still in use with young generation
@НаташаСкороход-ж1о Thank you for sharing your thoughts! While some idioms might feel more traditional, many are still used, especially in specific contexts or regions. It's fascinating how language evolves, and younger generations often adapt or create new expressions that reflect their experiences. I'm glad you found the idioms interesting!
I only missed one...the one about the good egg
@patriciaswilley4508 That's an excellent score! Missing just one is impressive, especially with tricky idioms like 'a good egg.' Well done, and thank you for taking on the challenge!
I had 8 wrong answers. At the same time English is not my first language. It's very educational. Thank you. Blessings

Got 27 correct. Some were unknown words to me. Lost one on female cat being called a queen, I always knew it as Tabby.😮
@s284m1 Thank you for participating! 27 is a great score, especially with some challenging terms. It's interesting how language varies-'Tabby' often refers to a cat's coat pattern, while 'Queen' is the specific term for a female cat. Keep up the great work, and I hope to see you in the next challenge!
To be honest I had never heard the term Reynard and had to look it up.
@jamesmatheson5115 Thank you for sharing your experience! Reynard is an uncommon term for a male fox, and it's great that you looked it up. I'm glad you're engaging with the challenge!
The male horse could also be Gelding.
@jamesmatheson5115 Thank you for sharing your input! While "gelding" is indeed a term for a male horse, it specifically refers to one that has been castrated. In the context of this question, the intended term likely referred to a general male horse, such as a "stallion." I appreciate you engaging with the challenge and adding to the discussion!

I better stop. Too many wrongs. So many strange names are given to things e.g group names.
@KathleenHarray Thank you for participating and sharing your thoughts! It’s true that group names can sometimes feel unfamiliar or surprising, as they often come from historical or cultural origins. Some things even have more than one accepted name. If you let me know the specific question you found confusing, I’ll be happy to fact-check it and provide clarity!
A baby fish is called a fry because we like to fry them?😂😂😂
@KathleenHarray That's a funny way to remember it! Actually, the term "fry" comes from Old English and refers to the small size of the young fish. Thanks for participating!
