Alison was my younger sister's best friend all through elementary school/middle school. (Arizona didn't separate 6th, 7th, and 8th grades from the younger kids back then... It was just K-8 and then 9 - 12 for high school). I remember so well Alison's vivid red hair and freckles, and the way she would cover her mouth with her hands when she giggled. My sister practically lived at Alison's house, when Alison wasn't practically living at ours. I have a picture of her someplace, taken with my old polaroid when she was probably 8 or 9.... - sneakers without socks, shorts and a t-shirt, legs spread out confidently with one hip cocked far to the side, her head titled the other way, with both her hands on her hips and grinning just as big as she possibly could. She was just so full of life, with not a shy bone in her body. Always ready for an adventure - always up for a midnight raid on the refrigerator during a sleep over - or pulling pranks on her older siblings. Of course, this was when she was 8, 9, 10, 11, etc.... and back in the time when all she drove was her bike with the banana seat and upright handlebars, long curly handlebar tassels flying as she raced down the street and around the corner, going to or from her house or ours. If there was ever a kid who did NOT deserve what happened to her, it was Ali..... but it does make me realize all the more how many of those same kinds of memories must live with somebody for each and every missing kid out there. RIP Alison..... Lord, what I would give if there was someway to go back and make sure you got to live the so vibrant life that seemed to be just waiting for you in the decades to come. No one had the right to take that away from you. I am so, so, very very sorry honey,.... it just wasn't fair at all.

Why do I get the feeling that these song lyrics more closely reflect the protected core of Molly than other MollyDrake FTFO songs. Is there a longing for a romance unrequited; held secretly within? Is there someone fool enough to have missed the the gift that was just before him?

I'm Not At All Sure of what it is that you feel your'e not that good at. For me, when I get the impression the effort springs forth from the heart I find it easy to see the beauty within. I think being artistic and creative are just a couple of the remarkable qualities wrapped up in the very unique and precious gem that you are. I'd be willing to bet there is a lot more to you, that's yet to be seen. As far as this rendition of Poisonous Lies goes, I think it's simplicity is it's strength. you but a little imagination to hear the symphony playing off the melody of the keys...💝 And when I got home and saw my name on the post, my heart just melted and I haven't stopped smiling yet! 🌷
