Subtlety very smoothly executed. This young woman is sharing space with a spiritual bully. I loved her reaction when that door slammed. Well done, people. Especially the last shot. It was beautiful. Perfetto.

"Something's not right in Heather's house. " Specifically, the framed poster from "M". Who does that, other than a film major?! And the absurd panoply of childish snowflakes. And the mismatched, oddly clustered wall art. And the cheap fabric furniture and chintzy throws and paper party ware and hanging electrical cords. Pretty much everything is not right in Heather's house, which is, by the way, just a walk-up apartment, not a house. It's apparently too small even for a plot or dramatic tension.

How come the roof doesn’t cave in from the snow?

This film was a waste of time.

I really enojyed watching this. As another Native Hawaiian (I'm class of 2017, I knew you back then!), this work is truly great to see. It's not often that you find a a short film that so flawlessly cut's itself into a spot that others miss. It was personal enough to be relatable to those who understand the struggle, yet finely understandable to outsiders. The tone of tenseness throughout the film really added to the seriousness of the subject. Though, you managed to also make it lighthearted with the transition from what I assume was your mom. I'm excited to see what comes next :).

I wish this type of cultural family impact was more prevalent. So much pride in your name and where you came from. Beautiful film brother!

Inasmuch as anything I have to say on the matter, as a white guy from Australia, this was really excellent, moving and captivating. I do find myself wondering ifI got this recommended to me because a few days ago I was looking up the etymology of 'howlie,' or if the algorithm did something nice by accident.
