Important things to note NOT included in this video: ・When I checked today, mail application was not accepted. You must bring the application and identification to a post office counter. ・It will not be listed as a document you should bring, but you SHOULD bring your MyNumber card. ・The counter at post offices stop processing bank account applications well before the office closes. Try to get there no later than 3:30 p.m. (weekdays only). ・Even if you follow the directions to a "t", there will be confusion and errors. Wait until you're at the counter to sign anything, as they may prefer block writing for some spaces where your name goes and a traditional signature in others. ・It seems for the address, only Japanese and Arabic numerals are accepted. Latin letters and Roman numerals, even if they are standard to your address, may cause problems. ・I was expected to have and use my Japanese seal (hanko). I have one, so it was no issue for me, but please be aware that some offices may not accept only a signature.
