Too sick man what did you use for that filter fx it’s too good 💙
Thanks my g! Actually its thr filter knob on Serato Sample suuuuuper simple!
Can you give us a tutorial on how to make the bump ??
Like the video style itself?
Jesus H Christ, these “inspirational” videos are so tacky! Why do people want to act like gurus all the time in here? It’s either looking away, eating, walking around the city, like an old BBC documentary. Please stop! 😂😂😂
And the fake podcasts! 😂😂😂
Love this message 👏🏾
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Nice to see people talking about matt. he's the goat. The only artist of the genre i never stopped listening
Of course man somebody had to give him his flowers! So I took it upon myself. He's a cool ass dude!
I’m glad you say this because I have a few things I love that I show in my channel and often wondered if I should just have gardening and not include the humor videos of my rescue cats but like you said it’s all a part of me and my life , and yeah I too also have a cooking section 😂❤, I love it all because it allows me versatility with what kind of videos I want to make plants, cats, and cooking , go check it out ❤, great videos I subscribed 🤗
Hey friend whats up! First off don't exclude parts of your personality whether humor cooking or whatever! Its just important that whatever you do, everything should maintain the same feeling throughout "YOU" whatever it is gardening, humor, music, whatever you should be the constant not just an activity! Will check it out! ✌🏾🤎 thank ya!
I found you when you were doing beat tutorials but since you started making these short film level videos you've quickly become one of the most inspired and inspiring people on this platform.
Damn homie that means alot! Yeah i love making beats and ill never stop talking about.. but im loving this new format! 🙌🏾💪🏾💯
If you think about it, the samples he flipped were not on a grid themselves. So using free hand and micro timing on the mpc to make things fit was what helped him develop his drum style. Once you use loop points and freehand you develop your own feel. No two live drummers play the same piece exactly the same. Dilla was a genius producer but it seems like half of his groove was the way he made things fit that felt right to him. That’s part of his personality. You can get close but I should imagine he would think that’s a strange thing to do. You can apply his workflows and studio tricks but its not going to bounce unless it comes from something that makes you feel good, that sounds right to you and makes you laugh out loud or get up out of your chair and move. Be your own favourite drummer.
Great points homie! Especially with his sample choices, it can be weird doing these emulation type videos trying to get a certain sound of a popular producer. In all honesty my main goal is just to peel back the curtain a bit and show a little bit on ways you might be able to get similar sounds in hopes people try and find their own way ya know! We learn by emulating our favorites and turning that into our own jam ya know! Thanks for engagin!
This one hit home! And i agree with you 100% Great video bro
I knew it needed to talk about it! 🙌🏾. Appreciate it fam!
Fire video bro!!
Thanks famo! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Keep doing you man! It's inspiring :-)
Hey man its all i can do! 💯🙌🏾 thank ya!

Fire video as always! Your cinematography is getting alot better, keep it up! (Btw love that trumpet shirt)
Preeesh fam! One percent better everyday 💯💪🏾 and thank u gotta show the fits off 😌
true bro, n you're doing a great job not boxing yourself 💯
Thanks homie! I Know I can't please everybody with one video but I know I got something for everybody!
I feel u a million percent
Man I had this in the back of my mind for a while now, I know somebody else out here feel me!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️ people like you for you !
❤ that's all I ever wanted.
Great video as usual man!! I researched J Dilla for my university dissertation. Specifically I used the theory of Late Style (how an artist's work changed when they are approaching death) to explore Dilla's circumstances and his work on Donuts, and I found so many different messages and meanings buried within that album that I never noticed before. Such an inspiration man Dilla the goat
Yessssir! What a dope topic choice btw 😌✊🏾! I want to talk about that too tho! Its so crazy when people die their legacy is almost deity like. But also when you have a grip on your own morality and come to terms you definitely have to be put into a different creative state ya know! The GOAT! Hope the paper turned out well man!
Muchas gracias bro, you always bring the best tutorials
@@jseba06 De nada bro! I try I try! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Awesome video my bro! So to summarize, your option of a easy route when sampling is to chop in each beat of a bar and experiment with the chops? I'm also curious if you have also chopped samples in each chord change?
@NeisanMo. thanks homie! And yeah I feel keeping it in time usually on the kick and snare usually leads to dope progressions everytime. But honestly you can do it anyway I've done random transient chopping.. beat chopping.. vocal chopping. It's so many options!
@@JayDAndre Correct there really isn't a correct way which makes sample chopping all the more versatile and fun. I've been in a rut for a long while when making beats and this video absolutely helped with reminding me of ways to go about sample chopping. Thanks again my bro. Love from the UK 🙌🏾💯
Young man.. you are magical for this info. Thank you 👏🏾✨️
@@TheElevatedTaurus Thank you so much! I'm glad I could provide something for ya! 🙌🏾 Just wanted to share!!
You are amazing bro fire beats 🔥 That serato sample is soo good but do you know any free sampler apart from the Fl stock ones?
@Juant77777 Thanks homie! Means a lot! In my opinion Momentum has probably been my favorite free sampler it's real similar to Serato! Try it out!
@Juant77777 if u want a mpc clone poise is cool too... abit confusing at first tho

@@Awthentik 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
hey man, what picture profile do you shoot with? great vid
Thanks famo! I shoot S-Log 2!! Hope u come back to check out more vids!
There’s a post online with one of his engineers. He says he ran the 8 outs from the MPC directly into the Presonus ACP88, and essentially used it as a mixer, utilizing gain reduction from the compressors to set levels. Then, there must have been some Y-Cables used in some way where he could patch his kicks as triggers to sidechain the channels he wanted to duck. My main guess however, would be that they also used the Presonus M80 *before* hitting the ACP88 (they are companion units with same form factor and channel count). That way he could slam the channels of the compressor with the preamp before hitting the compressor channels. Voila, this is most likely exactly how the Donuts sound is done.
I also say this because I own the ACP88, and an MPC60, and have attempted to do this. It works but I don’t have the preamp before it meaning I don’t get that super saturated SLAM that you gear
Damn great insight fam! The one thing about using all software ja you can't really slam your sound sources like you might really want to. Well you can but you get a digital type feedback and it has a complete different sonic texture than analog. I would say however i found a way to get a similar sound which i feel is an upgraded or version 2 of how i did it on this video! Maybe i should explain in a part two?? Anyways good shit famo! 🙌🏾
LOVED this, definitely going to have to look into the clamp mount Question, what tripod do you use or what would you recommend?
Thanks fam! I really appreciate you taking the time to check me out! Def look into one of the I promise it will up your shoots! I'll be honest after years of buying tripods I see at resale stores and such I finally put in a good amount for a really quality tripod. Its a manfrotto (still used) got it from my local camera shop. Mine has a fluid head which I def benefit from but Ive owned many tripods, to be honest as long as its fairly sturdy you should be fine starting with anyone you get your hands on!

Bro what mic is that, I been looking for the name for so long? 😩🙏🏾
It's actually the Tascam Dr 40x Field Recorder! I bought a little wind muff for it. It made getting clean audi way easier before I invested in my wireless mics!
@@JayDAndre bro you’re such a real one for this mann. This mic sounds soooo clean! I bought a pc mic recently for a voiceover, but I’m still going to get this one. Been tryna get the name for so long 😂 appreciate you mann
I had absolutely no intention to make any type of beat. But I stayed for the visuals lol 👌🏾

Yesssir! I hope u stick around to peep more of it!
That third beat Jay🔥😮💨. I’m glad I found out about you man, good stuff as always💯. But man, one of my biggest influences is FlyLo for sure, especially his early on stuff (July Heat, Raw Cartoons, 1986 etc.) From him, and really Adult Swim, is how I got introduced to Dilla and Madlib, and just the whole LA beatmaking scene. From then on I found out about producers like Ras G, Dibiase, Teebs, Samiyam, Nosaj Thing, Knx, etc. These guys made me fall in love with the wonky style of electronic/hip hop production.
Yo man I appreciate all the love! Fly Lo is an actual alien man! I remember when I found him. But once you find one alien you always stumble into more like Knx... RIP Ras G.. DIbia$e is a great dude I had the opportunity to chat online with him a couple times! Iman Omari is one guy I don't think gets enough credit. I'm happy you found your way here homie! Glad to have ya!
soon as i heard "boneless" i knew i was in good hands, haha. shoutout. Great video!

Is that suction thing only for a phone? Does is work for a camera? Please show how to attach the phone or camera to the devices and then how to get the shots.
@ikonz936productions hey friend! In the video I showed a couple examples of using it with my camera it can also be used with a phone given you use a phone clip adapter. Look at the bathroom scene in the video! You screw it in through quarter inch on camera. Thanks for watching!
