I'm not saying you shouldn't be prepared for things but I feel the way people talk about defense is in a binary where there's good guys and bad guys who want to hurt you. My kids are finding ways around the Troomi controls to get to sites like TH-cam. Some apps have ads they can use to get to TH-cam or other sites with no controls. It almost defeats the purpose to have some trusted apps allowed when they then use those apps to get to content they shouldn't.

    Another option regarding suspicious devices is to take a photo of it and reverse image search it or search for any product ID's on it. Those door alarms are a great idea for people who travel. Even at fancy hotels it wouldn't take much effort to talk a janitor or a security guard to let someone into your room. At least everyone should have them set on the interior door from a garage. BLE on IOTs are everywhere now. If you want to go full nerd you can use a nRF52840 dongle to monitor local Bluetooth devices.

    1. Email Troomi, tell them about a fake bug about your phone (for example, random crashing), pretending to be the parent. 2. They will allow you to factory reset the phone. 3. Uninstall the Troomi app, now you've got a regular Samsung phone. 4. (Optional) email the Tor bridges team and tell them you're in Iran or somewhere that censors the Internet, pretending to be an adult. They will send you bridge lines or a QR code with hidden Tor servers that aren't blocked by firewalls. Now you're not only free from firewalls, you're literally on the Dark Web.

    As a web developer, I have absolutely recorded and watched playbacks of people using my websites. For me it has never been about spying on any one person, but rather to understand if there is anything about one of my sites that is confusing or problematic to my customers/users. My goal is never to collect and sell your data, but rather to understand how to make my site easier to use. The take away here is that EVERY time there is a legitimate reason for ANYTHING there is an evil use which can and will be exploited for nefarious purposes by nefarious people. Don't want to be tracked online? Don't use the internet. Pick your poison.

    • @TheSecureDad
      @TheSecureDad 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm glad that you are not selling your data! I also understand your perspective of trying to optimize your website and user experience. The catch for users is that observing, recording, and analyzing their behavior on a website can make people uncomfortable. Then couple that with profiling customers, logging IP addresses, and cookies and the whole thing feels dystopian. (I'm not saying you do that.) Some site owners are not as honorable as you are. Case in point there is a retail chain that I don't visit anymore because their stores use facial recognition and license plate readers. My money goes elsewhere. I think eventually the average person will wake up to how much their privacy is nonexistent and they'll affect change with their buying power. Or at least that's what I hope. I appreciate you sharing your perspective!

We are living in the E N D times, the 7year Tribulation with the world leader (Antichrist) is right around the corner, that's GOD'S judgement upon all unbelievers! But there is hope - get saved and be rapture ready: accept JESUS CHRIST as your Lord and Savior today!!! Please study biblical end times prophecy; listen to Dr. Ron Rhodes on end times chronology.
