PB (Big) Smallie for Pyma. No Boat!? No Prob!
During high winds, kept the bass boat on the trailer and did some shore fishing at Pymatuning Reservoir in Pennsylvania! Very nice 3+ pound smallmouth bass, white. perch and a big largemouth that spit the hook. Still fun!

มุมมอง 170วันที่ผ่านมา
We review the Pelican Rocket Launcher fishing rod holder for kayak fishing, carries 3 rods off to one side, away from your casting lane, which is... AMAZING. What do we REALLY think of it? We love it! Worth $50, for sure. So why does it only get 3 Stars on Amazon? We'll say why. 31 Fish- 9 over 6 Pounds!! Jigging (Summer | Presque Isle Methods)
มุมมอง 45521 วันที่ผ่านมา
August on Lake Erie. After an amazing prior outing with the the Zman Gobius "The Deal," we decided to retire the embattled "Lord Gobius." We tried a new color of Gobius - "Natural Goby" and "Son of Gobius" was born! But seriously, it was incredible fishing: really nice largemouth one after another and huge fresh water drum a/k/a sheephead or sheepshead. Zman Gobius "The Deal" - 3" 1/2 ounce. ww...

Why do you use a tube jig head for a jig and not a normal round to help with snags????
Great question, these tube head jigs have a smaller hook, #2, and get more strikes, for me anyway. I notice it more when striper fishing, with multiple lines out. The tubehead line gets all the action, same for walleye, so I switched over to tubehead jigs, generally. Plus in these rocky/high current shallows, everything snags, even my nedrigs. Thanks for watching!
Ikan patin
Heck yeah!

I been trying to get into fishing and I wanted to know what’s your whole rod set up? And if it would be okay for a beginner like me to use something similar?
Thank you for the comment! The setup I use most often is perfect for beginners. Here, I used a Shimano 1500 with a medium-light rod with a fast action tip, which provides sensitivity, which is key for this kind of jigging. I use the st. croix eyecon, 7', which is incredible, but around $150, but the key is medium-light and fast action, for jigging 5 to 55 feet of water. I also use 6 pound straight fluorocarbon line, meaning no leader. Fluoro is most invisible in the water. Some use it to make leader, only, and use braid line mainly, which is thiner and stronger and therefore more cast-able, but when you snag up, which can be often, when jigging structure, you sometimes lose the entire leader and have to tie a new one, wasting valuable time on the water after you've found the perfect spot/time to fish. I'm doing a video soon about fluoro line / particular brands. Thanks again!
@@YFAwithTodd it’s time to retire the hobo reel and get myself something nice. Thanks for all the great information. I’ll be keeping my notifications on for that fluoro line video 🤙🏼
FYI those gills on the Walleye are like razors and are much more dangerous that their teeth.
Great point. Walleye deserve TLC, for their safety (unless we're eating them) and ours! Thanks for watching.
That area looks sweet to fish ! Beautiful smallie Todd! Thing had awesome patterns and colors. 🙌
Thanks so much, Jared! Appreciated.
Smart gull
and fast. thx for watching!
Was just up by the damn. Just ended up feeding the piranha bluegills. 😆 I was too lazy to change up my rig. It was a beautiful day though. Likely will be up there again soon.
Great place to just relax. Glad you enjoyed. Thx for watching!
Never easy to fish those winds, Beautiful smallie tho!..Love the coloring, some nice drone shots too bro! 👊👍
Thanks so much! Appreciated. 🫵🙏
Great size smallie Todd. Sucks that other WP catch got off, he looked even bigger. Tough with the wind.
Thanks, Tony! Appreciated!
Haha 😅😂 i guess it depends how accessible it is as well! Nice catch man!
Thank you!
Is that lake Erie?
Sure is. Presque Isle, in Erie PA. Thanks for watching!
Nice catch! 😅
Thanks you so much!
It's great that it's worked well for you for 2 years. Looks like a handy holder and priced well, too. Pretty good minus the cracking, I guess.
Yeah, the stem really should be metal, but it gets the job done. Thanks for the comment. Appreciated!
it’s real cool to see home like this. PI is beautiful
Absolutely. Total gem of an area. Even the water color has become more amazing over the years, great fishing, too. Special place. Thanks for watching!
May in Ohio is the time to be fishing the bank. Much better fish there lookin for love.
I've heard that, never tried. Some swear by wading into the water on the northern end, that what you mean? Thanks for watching!
Example of why need sharp hooks at all times! Nice fish man!
Indeed, thanks so much, man!
Love the crowd! Nice fish too!
Thanks so much, man! A fun fish indeed.
Good job man!
Thank you so much!!
Great video! Some solid fish 😊
Thank you so much! Appreciated. :)
Those gobies. U just jig it along the bottom or just trolling, or u just let it sit on bottom nvm u explained it lol do u normally fish on open area or sand/rocks. How r they through heavy grass, u just let it sit there, or u jig?
Well done! 💪🎣
Thanks so much, Henri!
Nice one!
Thanks, Tony! 😎
Good morning, Todd and I love your hybrid striped bass. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and keep on fising! 🎣🐟
Thanks, Mario! Very much appreciated. 🫵👍
Awesome, Todd... I don't have a Kayak, but I'll share with my friends. I've been out with a fracture finger. The other day, we hit the lake and caught fish. Check it out. Thank you for sharing your video! 🎣🐟
Thanks, Mario! Very much appreciated. 🫵🙏Also sending you some positive vibes for a great recovery. I'll check out your recent vid!
Thanks Darren
Great review Todd! Seams to be a perfect product for the boat or kayak. Nothing more annoying when your casting from a yak and get snagged up on another rod. Yeah, I’ve been there with the short bridge. Listening to your rods scrape the bottom of a bridge is the worst.
Thanks so much, Tony! I really appreciate the support. 🫵🙏
The Son of Gobius. 😜 Sometimes you gotta take the old vets out of the front lines. I have started to have some success with my brown Gobius. You have been on fire.
Very nice that the power of Gobius has extended to your catch as well. The legend lives on! haha. Thanks for watching!
That crowd was pretty cool!!
Thanks so much, man, appreciated!
You caught so many on that trip!
Thanks, Tony, very much appreciated!
That construction worker had a great view haha! Nice bass!
Thanks, Henri! 🫵👍
Yahhh nice channel indeed man!
Thanks so much man!
That is a nice bass!
Thanks so much, man!
Still flipping strong!! Man, that tail sure got eaten up!
Yeah, fought hard! thanks so much for watching, man!
Look at him go 😃
Thanks, Tony!
Bro the realease😭
Fished that damn most of my life and never knew there was walleye in there
Honestly, the walleye surprised me, as well. Thanks for watching!
What's the rod setup for your son gobius? The hookset looks pretty good with the spinning rod.
Yup, spinning reel: 2500 Shimano. Rod:,St. Croix eye con, medium-light, fast action, 6'3", using straight 6 lb fluoro. No leader. Very pricy for sure, but for subtle jigging, you feel the most sensitive of strikes, nothing quite like it (at Public Lands at least, haha) it in my opinion. Has enough backbone for a strong hook set, but honestly, a little stronger wouldn't hurt either, for the bigger fish with meatier mouths biting concealed hooks. But the eye con gets it done. Thanks for watching!
Unbelievable two-day trip Todd! I can't believe those huge drum were destroying that son of a Gobie! Those were some monster largemouth hanging out in that deep water too. I have never jigged those deeper areas of Presque Isle. You made me a believer; it looks like you had a blast!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate you checking it out. 🫵🙏
FYI....I know this video is old; but that bass @ 12 :50 was a Spotted Bass, not a Largemouth. Great video and fishing nonetheless.
Cool, thx, and thanks for watching!
Son of Lord Gobius carried on his Father's legacy for sure!
Thanks so much, man! Appreciated.
Good stuff Todd ! Those drum were big ! Some great fights for sure. Beautiful largies too. Good ole gobius. Just can't fail with that. It's so versatile. Getting 30-50 fish on one bait I'd say is worth the 6$. 🙌👊
Heck yeah, Jared, love Zman products all around. Thanks so much for watching!
Son of a Gobie! Looks like it won’t be long till you change the new natural color after all those fish. I never caught a drum, looks like a blast. A load of hookups between those two days. Fat cat in slow mo 😂. Great vid and useful tips Todd. Nice video!
Thanks so much, Tony! Very much appreciated. 🙏
Very nice drum man! And yah they always do that lol
Thanks, man! Very much appreciated.
I use the mean eye swimmer in 1/4oz by bass pro, on a non Goby fishery. They inhale them things just dragging'em along the bottom. The profile is killer
Heck yeah, worth considering, thanks for watching.
Very nice bait that matches the forage! And good catches!
Very cool, Todd. I have yet to see a live Gobi. I bought some of those as well for the Spring smallmouth run at Erie, but I didn't really make it up there this year. Hopefully next year! Great video, keep up the good work!
Thanks so much, man!
That was cool
Thanks, Tony! Appreciated.
You made some fans!! Haha
haha, yeah, love getting kiddos involved!
Please show me how you make the worm. Harness ty nice video
That's a great idea, i'll try to whip up a worm harness creation vid, and thank you!
Haha love those moments!
Thanks, man!
