Use Ryobi One battery in Black and Decker 18v
มุมมอง 12K9 ปีที่แล้ว
An adapter I built in about 2 hours using a $19 light from the Ryobi One series and an old Black and Decker 18v battery. Can now use Lithium ion 4 ah batteries with old tools. MUST USE RYOBI CHARGER!

    The best one I have seen is the Sealey ride on.Just ride over the rear wheel lift plate, leave rear wheel on the plate, put down side stnd ( still sitting on the bike) get off bike , lift up the 4 wheel lifter tabs , move the bike.Leave the bike on it and ride off it after lowering the lock tabs .Simple and safe and about £90.

    So you went to Harbor Freight and spent $89 on this for the back tire when you could have spent $99 on their motorcycle Dolly which is designed to do this. I'm not talking s*** I'm just curious as to why? And this time of year you can probably get a Black Friday deal like $80

    I see this video is now years old but I’m just now finding it. I’m impressed, sir. I have to give you an A for effort on your ingenuity. Well done! I also agree with you on just how wonderful that particular model of drill from Black & Decker really is. For all of my jobs around the house, I could grab this one drill and knock out jobs far more efficiently than any other drill that was built in that time period. It is just awesome and very underrated. Today’s drills have gotten much more compact, which is nice, but I still use this drill to this day. Nice homemade battery adapter! 👍

    Mike, I also SWEAR by the black and decker firestorm drill with the removable chuck. When they stopped making them, I couldn't find anything on the market that has this feature. So I bought 3 new ones!! 20 years later, I am still using the original! So I still have these in storage for the day my drill someday fails. Seeing that they last at least 20 years, I sold on one ebay, so I have 2 new ones in storage. I also have the B&D (all 18 volt) reciprocating saw, jig saw, detail sander, high-speed rotary tool, circular saw, grass trimmer (which I use the most), cultivator, hand vacuum, and the super-rare-and-highly-coveted 14-foot power scrubber! So I rely on these batteries heavily, to say the least. There is an adapter on amazon that adapts to the B&D 20 volt lithium Ion which is what I may get ...and start buying the 20 volt batteries.

      Mike: Mine came in less than a week from China ...wow! I am about to list a new ...yes, NEW 18 volt firestorm drill with removable chuck at a popular auction site. I still have one used and one new that should keep me happy for another 20 years. I love that the 20 max lithium ion batteries work with the drill with the chinese adapter but I now have a bunch of Ryobi tools and will make what you made ...I hope I don't screw it up.

    • @tony17112acst
      @tony17112acst 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I ended up making an adapter just like yours with a $5 ryobi flashlight, and it's been working great for 1 year. I made sure the wires were all heavy enough to handle the amps/load. I use it with my black & decker grass trimmer ...which is a great product. But I did get all Ryobi tools, once I found that the impact driver does a better job than high-torque Black and Decker firestorm drill. Try one, you may never go back because you use less energy driving a screw because of the many impacts.

    • @mikelipscomb8639
      @mikelipscomb8639 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ben ..Correct. In the event that you have a smooth floor, such as most garages, this is a good solution over the high dollar or undersized motorcycle movers. Not claiming this is a solution for every application, but most applications.

    Quick update... I purchased the Track Moto motorcycle mover because it was on $99 for black Friday. It's quicker to load, but not any more stable than this setup to be honest. First time I went to move the Track Moto forward the Kickstarter and folded in and almost dropped the bike. So this is still a decent solution.

    What I like about this idea is that you don't leave the bike on it. I keep mine in an open area so if I leave it on the regular dolly, it will be easy to move it from its corner with this one you move it and then take off the mover and voila is secured in a tight place and can only be moved with the gadget. Genious!!

    • @mikelipscomb8639
      @mikelipscomb8639 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      the book states the maximum footprint is 6'-4" long, and 7 3/4" wide. My bike is 86" long with a raked front end, and a 230mm tire, so just over 9".

    • @hoozierdaddy57
      @hoozierdaddy57 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Again, thanks. Good to know. I'll have to measure the spread center to center on the wheels. I'm just a shade under 8'-6" nose to tail. Your method might be the answer vs the dolly. Safe Riding!!

Only issue I have now is it needs a new battery, I can only get it started after hooking up the battery charger. Works great though, I use it for mowing and hauling firewood with the trailer. Back firing went away after putting fresh gas in
