Hello everyone this is my new TH-cam channel! I'm just an average Joe making DIY howto videos that could save you money around the house on your howto projects & repairs. Why pay someone else when you can do it yourself I always say. This is the place to be if you want to learn how to use your hands getting down & dirty saving those dollar bills from falling out of your pocket & landing in someone else's hands! You will see that if an average Joe (that's me) can do it then you can too. In fact I won't ever post a howto video on my channel that I think you CAN'T do. You heard right. I just happen to think that you can do everything I can do, if you just take your time & put your mind to it. Grab a bowl of popcorn or that cup of "Joe" & spend a spell with me for some hands on learning & possibly some entertainment along the way. I never know what I'm going to say next as whenever I get ready to do a howto DIY project I just whip out my video camera & go for it. Come join me! VideoJoe

Wasted time and money. You could have replaced the stem washer in the time it took you to do all the babbling.
Ha that is if I knew how to do that which I didn't & I doubt very many DIY'ers would know how to do that either plus it wasn't that difficult to purchase a brand new hose bib rather than repair a 25 year old hose bib. Thanks for the message...

I was on a lot taller ladder, and have the SAME cover you had, and the best I could do was get it to just HANG from the clips. They absolutely would NOT actually clip on. I BROKE the plastic trying to get the clips on. I had to tape it back together. I'm not mad at you though. It is the WORST design of anything I have ever seen on any kind of hardware or fixture!! The ones in the garage have latches that easily open and close with a lever.
So sorry to hear! So you were not able to remove in the end even after breaking it? If you watch the video again you might still learn what you might have not done.....YOu need to slide all the way to one side to remove clips then the other clips you should be able to lift the lense off since you have it pushed all the way over. I have some other videos that show similar stuff if you want to see more. You can go to my main TH-cam channel page then click on playlists & scroll down to electrical & they will be in that section. Thanks for stopping by! I know you will make up for it. Keep it going!
@@videojoeshows ... Hi. Thank You for the reply. The type of plastic light cover and the clips seem to be exactly the same. When I removed it to change the tubes, all four clips were really tight. I could not remove it until I had broke a piece off. I used good shipping tape to tape that back together, and then when I was trying to put the cover back up there, the clips would not hook on. I broke another piece off, taped it, and put the clip back on near that. So now it is just hanging from the four tabs that point straight down. I was up on a tall ladder too, and I'm tall. I couldn't see to put them on properly or feel it. I think the plastic light cover is too wide. I had to really squeeze it just to hang it from the tabs.
@@jeffn6475 Good job for not falling off ladder. You could remove the shipping tape & secure broken pieces with krazy glue as a thought. I hate those covers because there's so many types & sizes which makes it hard to match up at the store for which one you need & your local hardware store may not have the right one. Here's another thought for you in the future. If you ever have issues with that particular light fixture again & if it's a gazillion years old you might want to think about removing it altogether & install a new updated LED style...as a thought.
@@videojoeshows ... Thank You. I definitely thought of removing that entire light fixture and getting a simple round one. It is old. It's in the laundry room. It doesn't need to be huge. Two bright LED bulbs could be in a normal round fixture. I will do that if anything else goes wrong with it... Every bulb in this place, upstairs, downstairs, inside, outside, and the garage are all LED now. Took over a year, but I did it. They're good ones too. It wasn't easy finding 4' LED tubes for that fixture that weren't too bright. Don't know why they make most of those 5,000 K plus too bright. Anyway, that is a good idea. At least no one will ever see the repairs on the back side of the cover.
@@jeffn6475 Yes just remember though if you change out the light fixture to a round one you will then have to paint your ceiling where you remove the existing light fixture if your room has ever been repainted for instance. Do you have the matching paint? If not then you might think about replacing with similar fixture. Rock on!

I have this same issue with my window air conditioner’s plug
Yes it's gotten moisture in there over the years & has rusted the insides of the electrical outlet you are plugging your cord into. I think I ended up removing this electrical outlet & installing a new one. Is your electrical outlet a standard 120 volt one? I have lots of electrical videos on my channel that will show you how to replace. Go to my main TH-cam channel page then click on playlists & scroll down to electrical. Good luck & let me know what you decide to do...
@ in my country is 220v
@@Rayray_unicornplayz567 You might want to get a proper electrician to replace it or.....turn the breaker off then remove the outlet & get the same type at your local hardware store & replace like for like..I've never done the 220 one as all the ones I've ever replaced are the 120 volt ones...

I simply cannot change mine I watched all different models and mine seems to be different than all. I don’t know why they make it so damn difficult
So sorry to hear. Try again...look closely at top & bottom & move your little standard screw driver around to see if you can figure it out without breaking the front trim when removing. Let me know how you do...you can do it!
Thanks so much for this video. I was having so much trouble getting this cover back on until I used some of your tips. At first I got it on but it was too far forward on one end so had to redo it. But in the end I had success. Thanks!

Hey Joe I have been watching your videos from where you give away a car to your subs. I was wondering why your views and subs have decreased considerably. You need to use more SEO. Putting dummies on every title is not working. Plus you need great thumbnails.
First off thanks so much for continuing to watch my videos! I see you've been doing it for quite some time....nice! Secondly I have noticed the very same thing about views decreasing as well as subs & I know you're right. For awhile when I put "for dummies" I saw an uptick kind of but not anymore. I have run out of ideas for me an average Joe for how to keep increasing everything....errrrgggg! There's only so much I know how to do when it comes to SEO plus as for the thumbnails all I have been doing is picking one of the 3 thumbnails that TH-cam suggests & not creating my own because.....I don't know how to create awesome looking thumbnails! I know if just the thumbnails were better I could double my views & subscribers just by doing awesome thumbnails & with over 3700 videos if I just did that to all my current thumbnails I would be the boss! Thank you for pointing this out to my average self....pondering.
I feel I'm pretty good with showing viewers how to save money around the house & such with my video content but it's the other stuff I struggle with such as SEO & better thumbnails. I also just signed up for a course that shows how to create video courses to offer for sale for the average Joe & will be doing that soon & again it will be all that stuff that I struggle with too but they hold your hand through the course to show you how to do the same things they have been doing to make video courses so that is what I will be working towards & yes in the background I know I need SEO & better thumbnails not to mention better video titles to gain more subscribers & view count for my TH-cam channels as well. It never gets dull in my retirement years for sure as all this stuff will keep my mind going for sure. Thanks again for being a great subscriber of mine & of course anytime you have a DIY question or other then please let me know. Make today great!

It shows ur a hack .how could u mess that up.u even put new baseboard on and u still messed it up stop putting quarter round to fix ur bad measurements
I measured fine. The reason I installed quarter round at the bottom was because the floor has humps & dips in it which the tall baseboard will not fit down tight to.
@videojoeshows then u should have have trimmed ur baseboard.put a piece of trim on the board and make the difference

My back door (steel with the 5 rows of 3 glass) heavy door is hitting at the top right, just down from the top right corner and a little bit at that corner, how do I fix that?
I'll give you some homework so you can figure it out. Go to my main TH-cam channel page then click on playlists & scroll down to doors & you will find lots of different door videos where I fix sagging doors & I would think you will find one in there that will assist you. Sounds like your door is hitting the vertical door jamb towards the top edge right? Then that means your door is sagging & those different videos will go through different aspects of door sags & then I show different ways in which to fix a door sag. Good luck & let me know how you do! Thanks for stopping by...
