It's subtle but well worth mentioning...that the absolute hook during the entire guitar solo is Page sustaining an F# chord on his Fender Electric XII 12 string plugged directly into the main sound board, thru the entire solo. You have to listen closely but it's brilliant in its application and makes this arguably the greatest guitar solo in rock history. Actual key is Fmaj7

To think that when i was young i used to think that all great bands included Led Zeppelin were americans .Later on i realized that my favourite bands like Led Z,The Who and Queen not to mention Beatles were all Englishmen
