The Rural Woman Podcast
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 29 พ.ย. 2019
The Rural Woman Podcast is a weekly podcast sharing stories from women in areas of farming, ranching, homesteading, agriculture and more. Each of these women are doing life in their own unique way and sharing their journey in agriculture. These women are hard working, courageous, flexible and caring. They take on the day by the seat of their pants not know what's in store. They care for their farms, their livestock, and their families all simultaneously while trying to find time to fit in for themselves.
At the end of the day, these women might not farm, ranch, or homestead the same way but are all working towards a common goal; producing food to nourish their families and feed the world.
The Rural Woman Podcast was created by Katelyn Duban to help share these stories. Through the podcast, a community of like minded women in agriculture are brought together to support one another through the good times and bad. The Rural Woman Podcast can be downloaded wherever you listen to podcasts.

Strengthening Local Agriculture through CSA Programs with Chelsea McKen | The Rural Woman Podcast
On this week's episode of The Rural Woman Podcast™, you'll meet Chelsea McKen.
Chelsea, born and raised in the Peace Country, comes from a family with deep agricultural roots dating back to her great-grandfather's homesteading. After purchasing the family farm with her husband, Chelsea transitioned to vegetable farming and started a small-scale operation, expanding it over time with a CSA program, a pumpkin patch, and plans for u-pick Christmas trees. As the main grower, she spends her winters planning and starting seeds, while her summers are filled with planting, growing, and harvesting crops.
