inerFoam Solver: Wave Case
The #interFoam solver in #OpenFOAM is a #powerful tool for #modeling #two-phase flows, including #wave #dynamics. The attached #video #showcases a built-in case that #simulates wave #generation, #propagation, and #breaking.
#Wave #breakers are essential #coastal #structures #designed to dissipate wave energy, preventing #erosion and #protecting #marine #infrastructure. The original #OpenFOAM model has been adjusted to include a sloping surface at its end.

The interFoam solver in #OpenFOAM simulates #two-phase #incompressible #fluid #flows with #free #surfaces or #interfaces. It uses the #Volume of #Fluid (#VOF) #method to #track the interface between two #immiscible fluids, like #air and #water. #interFoam #solves the #Navier-Stokes #equations for #both fluids and can handle #complex #phenomena such as #bubble #formation and wave #interactions. ...

The `#icoFoam`¶ solver in #OpenFOAM is designed for #incompressible #laminar flow #simulations. It specifically addresses #transient (time-varying) #problems with relatively simple causes and minimal #interactions. The following video demonstrates a typical case in OpenFOAM using `icoFoam`, referred to as the "#elbow" case.
SimpleFOAM case

In #OpenFOAM, .C #files are #essential for #specifying the #implementation #details of #different #solvers. These solvers are categorized based on whether they handle #steady-state or #unsteady (#transient) flow, as well as whether they deal with #incompressible or #compressible flows, and #laminar or #turbulent #conditions. Here is a simple video that provides information about the #simpleFOAM...
refineMesh utility in OpenFOAM
มุมมอง 61หลายเดือนก่อน
#refineMesh is a #utility in #OpenFOAM used to #refine the #mesh of a #computational #domain. This means it subdivides existing #cells into smaller cells, increasing the mesh #resolution in specific regions.
checkMesh Utility in OpenFOAM

The strength of #OpenFOAM (short for Open Source Field Operation and Manipulation) lies not only in its rich array of solvers for simulating various phenomena but also in its actual power to develop new, custom solutions and applications tailored to the unique needs of users. OpenFOAM is not a single #program but a vast library of #customizable and #adaptable #software and applications. This #l...
Schemes available in OpenFOAM
มุมมอง 94หลายเดือนก่อน
In #OpenFOAM, "#schemes" refer to the #numerical #methods #used to #discretize and #solve the #governing #equations of #fluid #dynamics (and other physical processes) on a #computational #grid. These #schemes are #crucial for determining the #accuracy, #stability, and #efficiency of the #simulations. Below is an #overview of how to #show the #different #types of #schemes #available in #OpenFOAM.
Fvschemes effects

The #fvschems #file plays a significant role in determining the #accuracy and #stability of your #OpenFOAM #simulations. Different #discretization #schemes have different #strengths and #weaknesses, and the optimal choice depends on the specific #problem you're trying to solve. The provided #video gives a simple explanation of how fvSchemes impact simulation results.
Mesh Resolution

Interesting ! Streamlines would be cool :-)
Thank you for your comment and feedback! I'll make an effort to implement it
Life changing video thank you now i know what a circular spillway does
That would be horrifying to get sucked into.
yes, see this th-cam.com/video/avl6dLfISSU/w-d-xo.html
@@FOSSCADandCFD-bz6us Oof, either a death trap or an awesome waterslide...
Now rotate the columns 45 degrees.
Do you believe it will improve the behavior?
@@FOSSCADandCFD-bz6us ofc it will. Making them round will also improve it. Best would be to shape the bases like ships/cigars. Many old bridges do that.
Im also do same project But only ansys fluent and simulia Please make a complete video on open foam
Thank you for your inquiry. Indeed, I'm considering that possibility. However, if you're already capable of achieving it with other software, what draws your interest towards OpenFOAM?
Good 👍
Thanks for the visit
Nice Please make more videos start to end complete video
Ok, i will do that soon
which software was used for analysis ?
FreeCad for geometry, OpenFOAM for calculation and paraView for visualisation and all these tools are freely available as open-source software.
@@FOSSCADandCFD-bz6us thanks for the help , Could u mind helping , their are some queries can u provide any other platform I.e instagram etc ?
Very nice Simulation , thx for sharing 🙂
