The book is better I take it? What was better about it?

@ it’s a bit more of a tragic story. Ballister instead was the victim of an attack he didn’t deserve, nor did he cause. Instead, it was a deliberate attack by Ambrosius after a jousting match. As a result, Ballister had his arm blown off, he was declared unfit for him having one good arm, and Ambrosius has stated many times what he did was an accident. Now here’s where it gets interesting, Ballister has contacts with officials of the kingdom and he was pretty much forced into working as the bad guy FOR them. Nimona, instead of a magical outcast that could shapeshift, was instead a child who was probed and experimented on by the very same kingdom. She the reason she went to Ballister because she thought since he was a villain, maybe she could work with him without feeling like he’ll turn his sword on her like she was a monster. She did kill some people under Ballister’s watch, but Ballister himself was opposed to it and managed to convince her not to kill any more people (for the most part). Ambrosius and Ballister do have a connected rivalry that’s somewhat fueled by distain TO Ambrosius for what he did. In the end, the institute that ran the kingdom gets demolished, Ambrosius and Ballister become friends again (it was never stated that they were lovers, but I can see where people get the idea), and Nimona is still alive but apart from one scene we never really see her again (at least that’s what the readers and characters think). That’s pretty much the crux of it, but I know there’s a free copy of the book online if you don’t want to buy it. (The one I found was a site called “readallcomics”) I recommend reading it yourself, it’s really nice.

It was garbage. i couldn't finish the movie because of how annoying she was

I love how it followed the comic. Too many shows think they need to diverge from the source material.

Knowing Disney they probably dropped it because the male lead was gay and Disney is strangely wired about that

@@Bmerchin I wouldn't be surprised they like to look progressive but they throw anything related to queer in there products under the bus to pander to china like they did with star wars and how they basically removed all of John boagers pictures from the movie posters and put him in the corner and reduced his rolls in future movies.
