Also, I love hearing your Danish accent.
Thanks so much! I am happy that my Danish accent is good to listen to 😄
I saw this movie not too long ago and it's was okay; not one of Woody Allen's best. Perhaps you would like "Hannah and Her Sisters" better. I would like to suggest a movie that I thought was fantastic called: "The Holdovers" which came out last year around Christmas (not a Woody Allen movie). Bedste, Kevin
I have seen Hannah and Her Sisters. I like it, but I just feel Midnight in Paris is something special for me. I have not seen The Holdovers, but I will give it a watch. Thanks for the recommendation!
Oh! He is 11months or11 years old?
@@Mimiphukon 11 years 🐈⬛😄
@@thefilmclassic4210 wow! Milo is a old., matured cat. I really appreciate you for taking care of Milo. I had two female cats(the first queen cat came to our home in 1997and died in 2007)lived for ten years. Their descendents are still living with us. Now I have one mom cat and two naughty kittens. May God bless you. 😊
@@Mimiphukon Thanks so much! He has been trough a lot, but he still has a good life and looks great! And thanks for sharing your story with your cat, I enjoy reading stuff about other peoples cat🙂
I enjoyed your review of "Separate Tables." Thank you! I saw it in the theater when it was released. I think it was early 1959 when it was showing at my neighborhood theater, so I would have been 11 or 12 at that time. I have seen it once or twice since then, but not recently. I would like to see it again. I remember the basic storylines and the wonderful cast, as well as the title song (sung by Vic Damone). As far as I remember, the acting was uniformly good. I remember that David Niven and Wendy Hiller both won Oscars, he for best actor and she for best supporting actress. I remember that Gladys Cooper played an overbearing mother, somewhat similar to her role as Bette Davis' mother in "Now, Voyager." I always enjoy Gladys Cooper. I always enjoy Deborah Kerr, Burt Lancaster, and Rita Hayworth too. I remember that Rod Taylor and Audrey Dalton also were in it, but I don't remember a whole lot about their performances. Thanks again for your video. I will look for this film and will rewatch it when I find it streaming somewhere.
Thanks Julie! Yeah, Gladys Coopers character is very similar to her character in Now, Voyager. But like you I also enjoy her performance. It is fun to know, that you saw it when it was released. I wish more people knew of this film, since I think it is a great classic. Thanks again for your continuing support!
@@thefilmclassic4210I'm pretty sure I have seen Gladys Cooper playing an overbearing mother in a few other films as well. 😆 But I also have seen her in different types of roles, especially when she was younger. She was versatile, and also beautiful.
@@thefilmclassic4210 Another thing about this film is that in my mind I sort of get the Rod Taylor/Audrey Dalton couple confused with the George Segal/Elizabeth Ashley couple in "Ship of Fools." 😃 In both films, they are young couples sitting at a table talking!
@@julieborel3043 That is probably true. I have never seen Ship of fools unfortunately, even though In love Stanley Kramer. But I promise you when I I see it, I will take a look at that couple to notice the similarities 🙂
Milo❣️So sweet, with the sun on his kitty face. 🌞🐱
Yeah, He really enjoys the sun. Thanks for watching Susan!
Excellent film! Niven is an underrated and undervalued actor. He wrote a few books that were exceedingly witty. Anyone out there who hasn't seen this film, do so! ❤
I agree Janet! Niven was more than just an comedic actor and this film really showcases his strengths. Thanks so much for watching!

Thank you for another fine review. I have not seen "Paterson" but I intend to now, after watching your video and also reading the other two comments (both by TH-camrs whose opinions I respect). 👍
@@julieborel3043 Thanks Julie! I also think you will enjoy Paterson. It is simply and yet poetic.
Great review. This was the first Jarmusch film I'd really connected with in ages. I agree with you about Adam Driver - he seems a bit lost in many of his more mainstream roles.
Thanks Mike! And yeah, I dont know what it is with Driver. He is talented and have great screen presence, but it is almost like many directors just want to work with him without really thinking about if the part is right for him. But with Paterson Jarmusch found the role he was born to play.
I've been in love with this film for years. I agree with you, the cinematography and music score are incredible. And the way Julie Christie says "eat your pudding"... The original novel is also a favourite, so haunting and beautifully written.
I am happy to hear your love for the film! I must read the book one day!
Completely agree with your review 👍
Thanks Steve! I am happy for that!
I love watching this video.

@@Bridgett-J Thank you very much! He certainly knows when he has to show some affection and I want to show him some love aswell 🙂
Hi, Nikolaj. I enjoyed your review of "Marnie" and I agree with pretty much everything you said. I thought there were good things about "Marnie," but I also thought there were some serious problems. Overall, I consider it a flawed film that could have been a lot better. I haven't seen it in a long time, so I don't remember too many details. (I saw it in the theater when it was released in 1964, and at least one other time since then, but still many years ago.) What I do remember is that I did not like Sean Connery's character. I thought he was a real jerk, blackmailing Marnie into marrying him and then raping her (implied, offscreen). But it also seemed to me that he was supposed to be viewed as a "good guy." I also thought that Tippi Hedren's performance was uneven. She is a lovely woman, and I thought she was fine in "The Birds" and did a good job. But I felt that her role in "Marnie" really needed someone with more range as an actor. I liked Diane Baker a lot in this film. (I always like her.) I bet she would have been very good as Marnie. I am open to watching "Marnie" again sometime, and if I do, maybe I will appreciate it more than the way I remember it.
Thanks Julie! Yes, we are on the same page on this. I do think Tippi Hedren and Sean Connery has some great scenes together, but the films just dosnt know completely what to do with them. Can I ask you - when did your love for watching movies starts? 🙂
@@thefilmclassic4210 I was about six or seven years old when I started going to movies fairly often. This was in the early 1950s. I always loved going regardless of what movie was showing. I was the third of six children in our family. My dad would take the "older" kids to the movies to get them out of the house for a while to help give my mom a break. At first, he just took my two older sisters (who are 3-1/2 and 5-1/2 years older than I am). I was so delighted when the time came that he started including me as one of the "older" kids too. The movies we went to weren't children's movies, although most of them were suitable enough for kids. We just went to whatever was showing at a nearby neighborhood theater, even if it had a somewhat adult theme. Besides loving the movies in their own right, it always was a special occasion for me to go out with my dad and older sisters. To this day, I remember certain movies as ones that I saw with my father, and that memory adds sentimental value to how I feel about the film.
@@julieborel3043 Oh that is such a sweet story. I am very happy you wanted to share that. I understand you completely that this films did make an impression on you, especially because you dad had an influence on you. It is this types of memories in live that last forever and I would imagine you being sentimental about some of this old films. For me it is only a joy to read. I am happy your dad took you to the movies because you share a lot of love for some of the same movies that I love, and it is always nice to read your comments! And by the way I remember you were writing you were going to travel this month. So I wish you a very nice trip!
@@thefilmclassic4210 Thanks for your kind words and good wishes. Yes, I will be visiting various national and state parks in Utah soon, as well as Monument Valley and Antelope Canyon in Arizona. Great review, great movie. The funeral section with the son is my favourite scene because he's basically the only fringe character who isn't trying to portray himself as something else and it's the only time where Jim Broadbent doesn't humour a character and pretend their issues aren't there.
Thanks for your comment! I think you have a good point about that. The son is just saying what he feels. Even though he seems to much, you can clearly still feels his grief. It is a great scene and it also tells a lot about their family dynamic.
É Todo Lindinho ❤💕
Thanks for your review. I don't think I ever saw this film, although I'm not sure why I didn't get around to it. I remember when it was released and it was a big hit.
Your welcome Julie! Yes, it was very big hit when it came out and is still a film a lot of people loves. It is a lot of fun🙂
Great review.. I felt too that it would have been better if somehow she remained the posh guy's fiance throughout, it would have been much more suspenseful. Also, he was supposed to be Irish but I did not recognize anything sounding Irish? Also, a recently retired tennis pro would be a physical beast, incredibly fit, and not as we saw, an average schmo with a weak forehand. I also agree that the police investigation was a mish-mosh of stupidity in order to get to the end quickly, as you mentioned.. Overall though a very good movie, great music and great actors.
