They are a great organization. I raced a few years straight back in 1987-89 Riverside Raceway, Carlsbad and Rosarito. Then sporadically from 98-05. Mostly a novice intermediate level. My nephew got out of college and talked me into getting back at it in 2020.

Hi David, Yes, most run stock tanks. You will need to be topped off after the sight lap. They give you time to run to the truck to do so.

What's crazy is that it was pretty cold and very windy and I chose to go vented jersey only. It took me half a lap to become unfrozen after that!

@@GoodGuyMC13 oh wow! I was in race 4 and I went down in the rem track on that long right corner cause it was dry and in the next lap or two one of the workers on the rem track accidentally sprayed me too! Fully vented gear 🥶

Hey Levi, I am excited to hear this. SRA is super chill so don't get amped up. They start the clock when the front row leaves. This will probably be the intermediate line for you. You will likely start 4th row or 2 minutes back. They try to catch the leader with the checkers, which usually comes from the front row, at 45 minutes plus or minus a few. So, if the leader just put you a lap down, you would finish right behind him. If the leader doesn't catch you you will have to do the same lap he does. Plan on riding 40-50 minutes. Depending on course length that can be 4-7 laps but again, the race is based on 45 minutes. Just a tip, lining up can seem overwhelming but just remember it is you versus the track and clock and do not focus on the bikes around you. You will have fun!

@@GoodGuyMC13 thank you for the tip. I've always had a interest in motocross just never was financially able to do it growing up so last year I bought a 450 after not being on a bigger bike than a 110 in over 18 years do to a pretty gnarly injury on a 250, so here I am at 34 starting to get to a point that I am able to do this. But I have some work I need to get done on the bike prior to that race, fork seals, oil change, air cleaner and possibly new top end but that will depend on money. But like I said I'm not looking to go out and dominate anything or win I just want to see if I can do it and finish. I went to Arizona a few weeks ago to a buddy's house and we rode from ft mahove to Oatman and back on some pretty sketchy trails that was surfaces that I haven't ridden on before so it taught me a lot! I'm hoping I can get the work done and the parts prior to the event. Maybe I'll see you out there!

Haha, Good eye Matt! I did feel that I was a few Gs from it all going wrong! But my Precision Concepts Suspension and a bit of determination kept my hands and feet where they belonged! Thanks for watching that far into it!
