Beating my 4x4 PR Single After Over a Year (+ PR Average)
Stand back everyone, Sula cared about 4x4!
These PRs were very unexpected, but very welcome. After having still not practiced 4x4 for any serious length of time (or, learning anything beyond Redux like most civilized people do), this was a massive win for me. I had been casually hoping for a sub-50 single for a while now, after having +2ed out of one way back at Dunkirk Winter 2023. To get a 47, beating that +2ed sub 50 was very satisfying. And I don't know what happened to get that average, I was just having a great time with big cubes this comp.

Thanks to @Megaminxcuber for modding my pyra! I'm very pleased with this single, especially given the fact I haven't been practicing pyra that recently. I think it's a classic case of a scramble that looks decent, but not obviously amazing.

A good PR single in the midst of a very whatever PR average (which I know I can still drop). Amazing what'll happen with a good cube shape and no parity.

Finally, this was one of my longest standing PRs left to break. Definitely a good scramble, but I feel like my recent practice is starting to pay off.

It's the Annual Sula Podium in Not Clock. Very happy to see the last few weeks of a heavy pyraminx grind pay off with a PR2 average and another pyra podium. Now if only I can get rid of the freak 8 in an average...

I'll be darned, I got my big clock goal for the year in front of a Bath & Body Works. Very happy to get my 200th successful clock solve in a row, and on a not completely garbage 5.93 average (good for first place).

Aha, all the one handed practice I did in like, October, has finally paid off. I'm happy to be at a point where my OH PR single and average now (23.96 average done this comp too) are below what my 3x3 PRs were in 2020 before COVID hit.

I think I just hit the zone here. Looking at the scramble, there's no obvious reason to me this should've been PR. Must just be the Empire State comp magic. Scramble- F' U' F' L D L' U2 F2 B' R B2 R2 L2 B D2 L2 F L2 U2 F

No stupid little quips here, I was just happy with this average and the win.
I Got Keatoned (5.27 PR Average)

Ah, this was a good few hours of thinking I had FNAR back. Huge congrats to Katie Hull on her 5.26! This was huge for me. It took 47 rounds to bring down the 5.35 average. After becoming more consistent in comp, hitting more sub 6 averages, I finally pulled it together. Hopefully, this is the start of many more PR clock averages this year.
This Average has a World Record

Yet another wildly uninspiring average, except for the fact I locked down the longest Clock success streak ever, at 165 solves and going. And to top it off, this was a winning average, good start to the year podium wise.
The Luckiest Scrambles I've Ever Seen

Not only did I manage to scrape into pyra finals with a pretty shaky average, but I got to experience this scramble set. And in the freakiest thing of all, I managed to clutch BPA and not choke violently. I could see it being a good long while before I beat this average, 3.87 is real good for me when I've been slacking on practicing.

So, so happy with this sub 12 average. Finally have an official average that matches what I've been getting in practice. Turns out slower turning is actually helpful, doubly helped by using a cube I was forced to turn slower on

hey so did i, i got singaporean nr avg of 4.78 until it got demolished by my friend ethan with a 3.90 wr15 avg(we both avg low 4 at home but i struggle with comp nerves)
I’m actually kinda glad the 5.29 got beaten bc 1. that avg was with flip (no offense), and 2. I avg a second faster than that so over time I got sick of having that as FNAR. Anyways, congrats on this result!
do you ever plan on learning 7sim?
Not at this point. I've figured out that a lot of what I struggle with in comp is accuracy and remembering what I inspected, which just doesn't seem like a good mix with 7simul for me.
