I live on the edge of Dartmoor and near to the beaches on the South Devon coast. I make little 2-3 minute vids of my wanderings around.
I'm also posting up edited excerpts of films I'm watching. Most of these films won't have much coverage on TH-cam so I am trying to give them more exposure.
I've recently been teaming up with a proffesional (and brilliant) illustrator who creates the drawings for our cartoony collaborations together. Great fun!

Celia Gregory in Survivors 1976
มุมมอง 434ปีที่แล้ว
Watching Survivors again recently I was reminded of what had initially sustained my interest in the series: Celia Gregory as Doctor Ruth. The incomparable Celia Gregory. The gorgeous Celia Gregory. The much sadly missed Celia Gregory. This video is an edit of some of Celia's best bits (of which there were many) in the second series of Survivors broadcast in 1976.

Anita Brookner Dinner Party with Alison Steadman 2020
มุมมอง 650ปีที่แล้ว
Alison Steadman hosts a dinner party with a twist - all her guests are from beyond the grave, long time heroes brought back to life by the wonders of the radio archive. This vid clipping focuses on novelist Anita Brookner. To hear what the other odd assortment of guests had to say (John Lennon, Beryl Reid, James Stewart, Charles Aznavour) you'll have to check out My Dream Dinner Party on BBC Ra...
A Friend from England Anita Brookner radio review Claire Tomalin 1987
มุมมอง 290ปีที่แล้ว
A BBC radio review of Anita Brookners 1987 novel A Friend from England. Brookner had won the Booker prize with Hotel du Lac in 1984 so esteemed literary critic Claire Tomalin was wheeled in to give the novel due consideration and praise (mostly) (I think this review is from Kaleidoscope, the BBC Radio 4 Arts & Culture evening programme)

Anita Brookner & Brian Sewell talking about Anthony Blunt & The Cortauld

Anita Brookner and Brian Sewell in a BBC radio programme about their time at The Cortauld and reminiscences of Anthony Blunt. My caricatured treatment reflects the stuck up snobbery of the 2 main participants, especially pompous prig Mr BS.

Shags on Dawlish Warren Oct 2022
มุมมอง 492 ปีที่แล้ว
A quartet of young shags hanging out on a groyne at Dawlish Warren. An exact description of what I saw and filmed, with no euphemism intended. (well, only slightly) Plus some oystercatchers running the tide, searching the surf.
Waders and Kingfisher at Bowling Green Sept 2022
มุมมอง 232 ปีที่แล้ว
I've been watching birds for the last 6 years and finally, at last, I managed to get a kingfisher on film. There was also a grey heron, greenshank, and sundry other wading birds. But this little kingfisher has to take top billing. OK, it was rather a long way away, and I was using digital zoom, and my sighting was only for 22 seconds. But it's a little moment I feel glad to have seen, filmed, a...
Curlews at Goosemoor Flats Sept 2022

Quite a few curlew were stalking around Goosemoor Flats in Topsham this afternoon. One appeared to be having a little bit of a problem getting his freshly caught meal gulped down (a crayfishy thing?) Too many sticky out legs to snip off.

You don't just get birds up at Bowling Green Marsh in Topsham. You also get cows and their suckling calves. Right in front of the lookout. All the birders had their bins focused on the birdies. But I took time out to zero in on this tender little moment.

As far as the book goes Sean Bean doesn't die on this one right?
Why the fuck would you use the P word in the description?
Never seen Robert Shaw so silly. He’s aways only ornery.
I get the feeling that she has done this before 😮
OMG - so bad! Sounds like music played in a strip club. This was NOT The "Mersey" sound. Too bad it's so damn CATCHY! *smiling*
Did he shag her then or wha?
Love you dame Edith Evans 🥺🥺❤️

I remember Kay in the young ones ,,,,,,,she has a great body.
Ahead of its time.....
Too bad Morad leite us so early....good actress😢
❤❤❤❤❤❤ genial
Этот фильм самый лучший по роману.Герои красивые, молодые,.
Used to love it when I heard guys whistling, or even singing, while they were working, or even walking down the street. Not a huge fan of the wolf whistle, though.
Is the cornflakes missing the bowl a Pinter thing or Friedkin thing... or Tarantino? Lol
When I was 'young and eager eager under the apple boughs' No-one was more glamorous and sophisticated than Honor Blackman.
That's me right now... Stranded in Spain in a country I don't speak the language ... Without friends, without family, with nobody but God and myself. On the upside I got to swim in the ocean for the first time in my life...
I often wondered why wardrobe elected to have Reed clothed in a jacket and tie (save for the black leather gloves), unlike his fellow leather-clad Ton-Up Boys? His style seems to border on 'Mod'; however, in doing so, Reed seems to have foreshadowed Ringo Starr's answer to being neither a Mod or Rocker a year later in A Hard Days Night: "A mocker." Iconoclastic!
The actor really captures the essence of Mellors… the vulnerability that can make him either bitter and withdrawn, or open and passionate.

Mrs Peel was a pale imitation
Wow.....
Mrs. Gale's scripts written for male character, Macnee credited Rigg with rewriting their scripts & producers encouraged them to improvise on-set so MUCH different relationship resulted + Cathy was always having to fend Steed off. It was Tara they wrote as trainee crushing on Steed, thereby weakening her character until eventually they smartened up but it was already too late.
Diana Rigg could capture your heart ❤️ and at the most did😮😅😊 and always left no stone in her way😮😅😊 she was a natural success😅😊
One of most Beautiful and Sad Songs ever...
I’ve had an 8 year long earworm from this damned song!
She looked so shocked when she heard she had won. Hotel du Lac is her best - very funny, unlike her later books which became more and more melancholy.
I watched this film last night, recorded from Talking Pictures TV, and the opening sequence gives no indication of the direction the story goes in. Its of its' time, dark and, spoiler alert, don't expect a happy ending. Recommended viewing.
Hilda is right 👍
Magnifique chérie ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Mrs. Peel nothing else needs to be said she is and always will be the baddest ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was just a child when this was aired but I absolutely adored Anthony Hopkins as Pierre and have been a fan ever since.

God,I loved this show as a kid.
Far prefer the casting of Dandy Nicholls to Joan Plowright.
Ned wants to be Red, but he is only Orange.
I have a stack of eight Brookner works, once belonging to my late mother. I hope to find a bit of her in them.
Personally I found this film rather rude. Joelly Richardson and Sean Bean seem to be "at it" constantly, running around naked all the time its disgusting.I've watched the entire film15x now just to be sure of my opinion. I will watch it again but dont think i'm going to change my mind.
Indeed. It is mucky. I shall watch it over and over to make sure i have my facts correct 😂
😂

A spectacular movie by Joseph Losey.
She was the First Avenger Woman who blazed a trail for the Rest, a true icon who not only was a role model in the Early 60's but also did her own fights without a stuntwoman to do it!,love Mrs Peel,Tara King and Purdey,But Steed and Mrs Gale to me was the Dream Team, its a shame most people only Think The Avengers started with Mrs Peel, but Without Mrs Gale and Dr Keel The Avengers wouldnt have existed!,Honor Blackman was a fantastic Actress and a great fighter Mrs Gale was the Best!
Quite agree people forget just how ground breaking it was . I remember it making the front pages of newspapers when steed and Mrs gale kissed !
Series wasn't global until Peel, 1st series lost & Mrs. Gale not shown in U.S. until the '90's.
@@unowen-nh9ovI recently saw some Cathy Gale episodes on cable. She was great, she whooped everybody.
She tended to write the same book over and over again … 24 X actually. I should know. I’ve read almost all of them, usually more than once. And why wouldn’t U ? Her sentences are exquisite : Poetry as Prose. Nothing much ever happens in a Brookner novel . But U read her for all that deep and interesting psychoanalysis and that poetic prose.
La mujer más linda y sensual que haya visto. 😍😍😍
just saw the film because it was made in my home town

one of the greatest sorrows of my life is not to have met Brian Sewell. In every level, the world is impoverished by the absence of his ilk. his successors have tried their damn best to rid themselves of them. the courtauld is a husk. emptied of life. it is my personal tragedy to have missed even the dying smoke of that great fire.
