I went to look at a 666C cable skidder today, been sitting for two years and there was a huge build up of old oil or grease on the rim .A lot, seal leaking or is that the trunnions gone in the rearend. Clean machine, 4,000 hours.But I bought a Timberjack that I had to replace the trunnions for the four wheel drive and it was-20 below and like always, broke down in the woods.Costing me $2,500 for the two parts and $600 for labor.Any info would greatly be appreciated. THANK YOU.

When I drove for Dutra Trucking out of Willits Ca, I had "privilege" of being assigned the rack (we fondly named it the Turkey Rack). Louisiana Pacific was trying to put together a chipping operation to reclaim tan oak, eucalyptus, abandoned sinkers from old landings, you name it. We were decking this trash in Calpella, right where 20 and 101 meet. It was ultimately unsuccessful, as the paper companies found the fiber to be unsuited for papermaking; I think the majority of the deck was turned into firewood and hog fuel. We too, pulled this maneuver, down in the coastal range above Gualala Ca. The loader operator, Doc, with Okerstrom Logging, took pity on me for having to back in a mile and a half down a steep canyonside and proposed we do it this way. I can say with certainty that there is no other loader operator I would have agreed to do this with: it a special bond between crazy people when you agree to have another man swing your trailer out into thin air! The other thing that I remember, all too well, is that going out to bush with that damnable rack was the roughest riding son of a gun on the planet, even rougher than an empty cement mixer! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Saw the Hull and Oakes sawmill when I was a kid, had family that worked there. To this day still remember the screaming saws, shaking floors and sweet smell of fresh lumber!
