There’s something so special about being there at the Grand Prix… Seeing those cars come around the corner just gives you goosebumps and elevates your heart rate… It really does make you feel apart of the race.

My hometown, Seveso, is close to Monza, 12 km away. I remember back when I was 6yo to 10-12yo, we could hear the F1 cars from my balcony with the right wind conditions. I've been more at Monza's Villa Reale Park and Monza circuit than at home while growing up and in my teenage years. It was just a genuinely nice place and I grew up in an environment that was really motorsport-centric. I've been to many races, practices and qualis. I like to keep an open mind, appreciate everything that is new and avoid the "in my time this was better" mentality, because I don't like that kind of bias. But in this case, boy oh boy, there is nothing like that sound. It was even too much. You can see it in the popular clip of Hamilton hearing a v10 (I believe) passing by while he's at the box. His eyes shined like a kid on Christmas day. And that's my reaction, every freakin time. I can't hide that I'm a bit sad and nostalgic seeing how it is now, thinking about those years and knowing that will be a thing of the past, even more so with the event of electric engines etc, which btw I support and are eventually the future. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty to be excited nowadays too, but I'm just glad I was able to experience that in those years, it was perfect timing. You know, it's kinda the same magic, at least for me, of the kids that were the same age of Harry Potter while the books were coming out, or being the right age for movies like Karate Kid or the Goonies, it just hits differently because of the right point in time combined with the rate age. Anyway, I'm probably boring by now, but yeah, I wanted to give my 2 cents about it. :)
