This was sort of a Laurie Anderson homecoming. Laurie performing in her hometown of Glen Ellyn, Illinois. A meditation on the future and technology. It's hard to make a definite set list for Laurie because she sometimes combines various pieces. I have made an attempt as follows: 00:00:00 - Violin Intro / World Without End / When My Father Died 00:07:19 - Alexander the Great / Hey Ah 00:13:02 - ...

Simple AMAZING!
МЕГАКРУТЬ НИЖАЙШИЙ ПОКЛОН
A sheer genius, the richest tapestry of coloured silks with the darkest sounds, a great journey
this one stayed with me since I first saw the VIDEOTAPE, in the ninties, there's magic all along, the harp solo is just sheer sensitive energy!
El Gavilan love that song! RIP Kris! So glad I got to meet you here in London 🙏🍻
I enjoyed the two different paced shows. Mesmerized ... by such deep knowledge and exquisite abilities Laurie Anderson has. The last song she did was so interesting as the sound was exact in two fields simultaneously, yet no -- one must find out o their own with truth and trust -- it isn't about the gory, it's about the great weight of amazing attraction in love. The last sound being absolute love. That's what I felt. So, thank goodness for her miraculous revelations to us. For comfort and hope, and for the crucible fingers of innocence reaching to us. May her work be prottected, applauded, and made readily available to all human species. Thank you. I'm happy.
I didn’t hear about Todd Snider until 2005 or 2006 & he quickly became one of my favourite artists. This is ten years before that & doing some serious rocking with the wrecks! Thank you internet for all of your wonders! This is pure joy!
Wow, 28 years ago! Thanks Ken!
Dang... I didn't notice that Laurie's lips didn't sync with the music!!
This was some footage from Songs and Stories from Moby Dick that I slowed down and played in reverse. Just goofing around.
thank you :)) excelente !!! it's a very serious genius work ! think about all she said ... .. . very critical to " the system " where we live on ... .. .
This will be recognised as amongst the greatest concerts ever
Still relevant in 2024.
Somewhere, John Lee Hooker is tapping his foot while wearing colorful socks and a pair of polished Stacy Adams.
Wow '97. She could be talking about today in '24
Thanks for posting.

Right on!
I was at this show and my mind is blown that you have this video and I can see it now! Thanks for sharing! I remember how it felt to be surrounded by the sound of the song "God" and the energy of it in the room. It was amazing, so I'm glad that is one that got included.
the record of the time exposition to lyon contemporary art museum in 2002,
Read about this and came directly here because yeah I knew it be good haha
Same here
I would have preferred Prine get more attention in his early career and perhaps take early retirement for his last twenty years but that's just thinking about his legacy, Why is it old prizefighters don't know when to quit the ring
Just can't get into the kids, sorry
Haven't seen this, great. Love to see early prine
say what you meme
So present in his words, spirit and soul. This song….dart to the heart.
JUST 1 of this kind of Genius. He shook my hand in London. My MAESTRO.
Steve Earle is a national treasure.
This guy is totally over rated musician. He’s just not that good. More famous for being a hopeless junkie.
I don't know about that, the guy plays multiple styles including country, rock and folk to just name a few and has been playing for a long, long time. His struggles with drugs aren't really germane to whether he is overrated or his level of talent.
@@jamesgoudreau1940 I never said his playing skills or talent had anything to do with his addictions. I said it was what he is famous for. I thought it was articulated well and I stand by my assertions, all of them.
@@TheNaturalust You are not on trial here, brother. No need to be defensive just a little back and forth. Overrated is an overused and poorly defined metric. You explained neither the overated point nor your opinion that he isn't that good. Saying he isn't good is different than saying his music is not to your taste. So, no you really did not articulate your opinions at all and added the point of drug addiction like it supported your previous statements. If you had instead put a reason why you felt he is overrated and by whom and why you feel he isn't that good before adding a point about addiction I would more readily agree with you. I say all this to point out you are both reading too much and yet at the same time not enough into my comment above.
@@jamesgoudreau1940 well let me be clear here then. His playing is mediocre and his voice not very compelling. Overall an overrated mediocre artist. Best known for his struggles with serious heroin addiction. I am a huge fan of the styles he likes to play, it has been my profession for 3 decades. He’s just not very good at performing, imo. A few decent songs he’s written that would be much better served with someone else performing them. Check out Tyler Childers show from the 2023 tour. He writes and performs his songs so well you can hardly find a song that isn’t fantastic. That is the standard for touring singer/songwriters. Steve Earl is just not in the same league and he’s had plenty more time to practice. Even super simple songwriters but with no trace of being disingenuous like Aaron Lewis are heads and shoulders above Earl. It’s about so many admittedly subjective factors that make an artist truly great. I’ve given Steve Earl plenty of chances to truly move me and he just hasn’t. Music is my life, I am a touring musician, a hired gun who plays many instruments and sings harmony. I actually believe I could add some elements that are missing from Steve’s shows. Truly elevate his vocals and songs with sympathetic instrumentation. Perhaps dobro or mandolin on some songs, guitar on others to elevate his music to a level closer to what many of us discerning musicians consider top shelf. Alone he doesn’t seem to be able to get there. Hope that post is more easily understandable and answers your questions more clearly than just calling him over rated. 😎
@@TheNaturalust Granted that elements could be added to elevate his music to another level, which he does when touring with a band. This is a solo acoustic tour titled "Alone Again". Personally, I enjoyed it very much.
So happy I got a chance to see him play this in Asheville at the Orange-peel a few years ago. Thank You!
Awesome! Could you please make the audio only available in original taper quality? Is there a forum or hub I could join?

I genuinely think she just has the best voice I have ever heard.

Awesome… saw her later in 95in Kingston… always wished I had a recording of that show.
Have loved this song since the first time I heard it, some 35 or more years ago Bruce is such a talented players and the words are a treat.
How the decades have passed since I first heard this, so sad that things seem to be only worse. But, the passion of this song brings one hope and a smile.
So good to hear from him and his music thanks for the music John 🎉😢😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😢
this is real art
Do you by chance have Jackson's set?
I do. Check my Yotube page later tonight and I'll try to get it uploaded. (It has some rough spots, but mostly pretty good)
