This is so pretty....it reminds me of a Persian tile. I think the subdued colors add a lot to this particular pattern, but I bet you're going to kick it up a notch with some color. 🤔 Thanks for tutorial #2. 🤗

Thank you for this! I can't wait to start it!
@@heatherholly6563 you’re very welcome, enjoy !
Just found this and im definitely going to make this to use in my wheelchair!!!! I can't wait for your next video!!!😍😍😍 absolutely gorgeous!!
Thank you, enjoy….Part 2 will be posted in the next couple of days 🤗
Looking forward to that! I'm looking for as much victorian/edwardian inspired things as I can! I love crocheting and spend every day at home (because I can't work and is pretty much stuck at home). But I have this victorian gothic style myself and if I can find things to make that matches my style, I'm as happy as I can be! I hope you can make something like that one day. I'm getting bored of just making scarfs 😅 this video came to my rescue for now❤❤
Just to make it a little easier for us to figure out what goes with what, please do separate playlists. Would love to do the throws but I'm confused on the order of tutorials. TIA.
@ will do ….. though, the first make along was just called ‘stash buster’ and the videos are numbered in order, the new one is called ‘stash buster#2’ and are again numbered in order ( only 1 and 2 out at the moment) if that helps for now 👍
Dang! I almost missed this one....the algorithm must not like me. 😂 I'm currently working on an afghan for my nephew so, I should have "leftover" (😂) yarn to make one of these. His colors are teal blue, neon green and neon orange (he wanted mid-century...so 1960's-ish style and colors...style is Chevron/ripple which I believe was all the rage back then). I hope I don't go blind working on this 🤣🤣🤣. But, I do think the colors would make a very cool mid-century mandala...which I might make as a wall hanging and send along as an extra gift...a two-fer as it were. Thank you for your tutorials and love your work 🤗
Hi Simon, looks great! Thank you 😍 Would mercerised cotton give a good effect as well? I've got a stash of that.
@@Kristel-vp yes, of course, as long as you keep the yarn type the same throughout 👍
Beautiful! ❤❤❤❤

Soooooo excited you came across my feed!!! I love this and i can't wait to start. Nevermind my 3+ other wips lol.

Very pretty! I’m going to have to make this after I get done with my current afghan.
Enjoy !
Hey Simon, I am at the heel but the bottom of my stocking is pointed. Do you think I have it too tight? I haven’t done this in 20 years so I have no idea where I went wrong. I’ve slowed down the video to try and watch in slow motion. I have no idea why it’s pointed. I’ve started over a few times. Any tips?
@@christinaconley2163 it could be a tension issue, however, the stocking isn’t meant to be worn, so I wouldn’t worry too much, …. When you’ve done the final increase on the toe and you have 36 stitches , it should be a circle that lies flat, if that helps any ???? Send me a photo and I’ll see if I can work it out for you….. Best wishes for the holiday season, Simon x
@ thank you for replying. It doesn’t stay flat. I started over and I should have it done later today. I’ll send you a photo. Thanks and merry Christmas.
I give this video like and hope you will run ads to promote your nice channel
thank you for your kind comments!
I don't knit (any more, anyways)...this is lovely, though. I'm sure the knitters that subscribe are saying "yessss!" after all those crochet videos 😂 So nice of you to offer the 4 sizes...after all....most of us are not really one size fits all.😉
This is totally cool. It would would also look cool if each section was a different color. Have a Yarntastic beautiful day 🧶💖🐸
@@terrillcampbell673 thank you !
My goodness...those look like fancy tile work. 😍 Hmmmmm....🤔I wonder if you made these in white and blue if they would have a Delft tile feel to them? I have lots of white and pretty blue variegated yarn that runs from baby blue to dark sky blue...I think if I add a true blue or navy blue I could get that feel. Thanks for the tutorial. 🤗
W👀W...pretty cool. Big plus only working on the right side and the fringe comes along as you go. 🤗 I think the big square done in colors would make a pretty mandala wall hanging. This is going in my archive of patterns to use for lapghans for charity/nursing homes (without the fringe, of course...can't be getting that fringe in the workings of a wheel chair 😉) I think this patterns lends itself to a poncho too...which always look fabulous with a fringe. 🤩 Thanks for your tutorial. 🤗
@@gretchenchristophel1169 there would be a lot of weaving in to make this one without the fringe lol, but working the pattern in a square would be perfect 👍
@@simonhenry100 Hmmmmm....🤔yes....I think you're right. I usually work my ends as I go...dealing with ends when I've finished a project seems to take some of the sense of accomplishment out of it for me. "Ohhhh...look at this fab project...oh, wait have to weave the ends in....bummer"😂
This blanket is amazing. I can't wait to finish mine ( waiting for the yarn). I hope your next blanket is a rectangle. A friend said she'd love to have me make her one if it would fit her bed. You did an amazing job. Thank you for sharing your talent. Have a Yarntastic beautiful day 🧶💖🐸
@@terrillcampbell673 thank you for your kind comments, the next blanket is indeed a rectangle ! 🤗
Oh...man....I can see I'm going to have to step up my charity "makes" to have more stash to be busted. 😆 This is so gobsmackingly gorgeous and I hope the lucky winner of the draw will do something fabulous with it...draped over the sofa/divan...hung on a nice rod as an art piece in a room. I love the tassels at the corners. I am no good at making tassels, so I might have to buy drapery tassels 🤔. Thanks for all the work in your videos...nicely done. 🤗🥰
You’re welcome, stay tuned for the next one 🤗
I can't wait for my yarn to get here. It's going to be nice and warm. Have a Yarntastic beautiful day🧶💖🐸
@@terrillcampbell673 enjoy!
Hi Simon. I don't really understand Round 42. It says the space between the 2 SC, but there really isn't a space.
@ hi Terri, it means work I st in between the 2 scs rather than in to the top as you would usually…… it is ok to work into the first sc and then skip the second one …… hope that helps ……. You can send me a photo of where you’re stuck to simonhenry1@mac.com if that helps any more. 👍
Maybe a Santa hat next please?
Great idea!
This just gets prettier and prettier.🥰 Good remark about the DC correction row to take care of "waviness". I have done that in prior projects...usually SC, but whatever works to bring the rows under control is the best to use...for some it might be SC for others DC, but for this beautiful lap throw following your instructions is the best. 🤗 (BTW...thank you for the zoomies😂)
Glad you’re enjoying it ! 👍
It’s nice of you to consider any background noises but I reckon it wouldn’t matter if they could be heard. You’re doing well😊 I confess that I’m not crocheting the stitches with you but I enjoy watching your progress.
This is beautiful! I know what my immediate next project is gonna be😊 Thank u for sharing this with us❤❤
@@fantasyqwest enjoy !! 🤗
This is beautiful. I'm waiting for my yarn to come in so I can finish the blanket. Have a Yarntastic beautiful day 🧶💖🐸
So pleased you’re enjoying it …. Stay tuned for more 🤗
The back side works in its own right, if you’ve watched all of the tutorials, you’ll see that I do show it. There is a difference as some rows are worked over the top of others, this gives added texture to the finished piece. I like the idea of texturising both sides, I’d be interested to see your take on this, and then I could follow your pattern 😊 ( I often work other designers designs, I’m always prepared to learn something)
Hmmm.... wonder about a couple of things. It seems the work is done always on the same side and counter-clockwise to the left. Is there much of a difference in the look of front and back? Could some of the stitches be just as interesting worked from the reverse...which would make the stitches appear to be worked clock-wise on the front? I'm sorry if I'm a bit confusing...seems like an obvious right/wrong side could be avoided this way. I thought I might try this as a lap afghan for a senior center, and it would be best if there was no obvious right/wrong side. Thanks for your tutorial and the zoom views, big help. 🤗
Usually when working in the round as Simon is doing most if not all the textures are on the front side of the project. Have a Yarntastic beautiful day 🧶💖🐸
@@terrillcampbell673 Yes....that is what I was asking about. Thank you.

I'm enjoying making this blanket. Do you have an email address we can send our picks to? Have a Yarntastic beautiful day 🧶💖🐸
simonhenry1@mac.com I’d love to see how you’re doing 🤗
Please move camera closer, watching on tv and its hard to see what your doing with stitches. Thanks
I do zoom in later on as the stitches move from basic to more complicated… I also read out loud all of the stitches, you could write them down, or, you can buy the pattern from ; www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/crochet-stash-buster-lap-throw-crochet-pattern-by-simon-henry if you find it easier to work from written …. If you subscribe to the channel, you’ll see the next parts, 1, 2 and 3 are out now. Thanks for your comments.
It’s odd that the popcorn stitch instruction is pull thru all but last 2 loops and then you pull thru them anyway? Maybe I’ve misunderstood that bit. Just curious
@ the pop corn stitch doesn’t say all but the last two loops ??? However, the puff stitch does …that is ; * yarn round hook , insert hook into next stitch, yarn round hook, draw up a loop, rep from * three times, yarn round hook, draw through all but the last loops, 2 loops on hook, yarn round hook, draw through the last two sts….. it’s much easier to do than it is to say…. Pop corn is, 5 dc into next st, take out hook, insert into top of first st of the 5, re attach loop, yarn round, pull through two loops…. Hope that makes sense and solves confusion….. I also saw that you’d asked, and then removed ‘who’s pattern are you following?’ The design is mine, copy written to me, available to buy on love crafts and ravelry.
The textures are amazing 😳I have a "technical" question...I tend to crochet tightly and I have found that if I start new rounds in a diagonal corner (top to bottom, left to right) each time my squares stay straighter/squarer...have you heard of this before? Thanks for these wonderful tutorials 🤗
There are no hard and fast rules….. whatever works for you !!! All rounds on this throw start in a corner 🤗thank you for your kind words.
Love this, thank you

I am a fiber artists in my 70's, so I can follow along pretty easily...but, some might be grateful if you could zoom your work a bit larger. Love the work put in to this, I wanted to suggest that in the future maybe break up videos like this into 2 parts or 3 as some people may look at how long the video is and may not want to feel as though they have to sit down for that long or what have you. Mandala patterns having been popping up more in my feed on all platforms so I would love to try them out myself
@@EmilyEmersonCrocheting there will be 5 parts to this ….
