Do you ever set big goals for yourself and then realize months later that life got in the way, and you weren’t able to follow through? Time slips by, momentum fades, and suddenly those exciting plans feel like a distant memory. Trust me, I’ve been there, too! 🙋‍♀️
One of the key lessons I’ve learned-especially after attending countless CE events-is that creating time-bound action items is absolutely critical. That’s why in all of my 7 Master Class Trainings, I make it a priority to finish with at least 20 actionable steps to help implement everything we’ve covered.
To make these action items stick, I encourage my students to follow the Three W’s:
✨ Who: Who will own this action item? If it’s you, identify who you need to collaborate with to make it happen.
✨ What: What is the goal? Clearly define the action step and understand the why behind it-this helps you see the bigger picture.
✨ When: When can this realistically be achieved? I recommend breaking it down into quarters. For example, can this action be completed in Q1 (before March ends), or does it make more sense to tackle it in Q2 (April-June)?
Setting realistic goals with clear expectations ensures that your action items are rolled out thoroughly, effectively, and with intention.
