Also, literally just realised it’s sanzen not samzen. 🤫 Disclaimer: I am blaming the company who makes Sanzen paper, NOT Nisha who designed this planner. I have not reached out to her at this stage but I have made a post on her Facebook group. Channel mentioned: www.youtube.com/@lillabjornstationery

    Hello, I’m sorry you had this experience. I was looking into getting this planner because I loved the layout. This is the first planner I’ve seen with its own dedicated section to meals. But I do have a question. I noticed online there is I guess a regular planner and a LTP (less than perfect) planner. So my question is was the LTP planners noted after your experience? I only just found her yesterday.

    Thank you for the review. I truly feel you did what you had to do. Im old school - quality issues ultimately fall oh the owner of the company because it's their name on the product. If there is a constant issue, it's up to the owner to take charge and fix the issue, so if that means that they have to change the production company, than the owner has to consider that as an option. I totally understand that it's a small business, but the owner can go to the current production company and have a discussion with them and try to work something out. Sorry you had such a crappy issue. But how the owner/ manager handled it was, in my opinion, extremely unprofessional. Thank you for posting this video.

      Thank you for your comment and saying this! Apparently she did have a conversation with the production company for future stuff and feedback but yeah, I was pretty applaud by the whole experience and I have a friend who had even worse than I did. Everytime I see one of her planners, there is something wrong with it. It's baffling how she believe these things are deemed as acceptable quality. v_v I agree with you, it does fall back on the owner regardless if she did went to a third party for manufacturing. I don't know if I mentioned it in the video but she even used how she was out of pocket for shipping because of the discounted shipping, which was her damn choice to do! Almost felt like a, you can't complain you got discounted shipping! It was still $155AUD all up at the end of the day! That is ALOT of money when I could of got a Cousin and clear cover for $75 tops. v_v I'm giving the planner a chance because I really don't want to waste it so I'm giving it a month to figure out if I can handle it, including the paper which I'm not overly happy with (it feels flimsy compared to pervious sanzen planners I've had). It also doesn't help that I decided to keep doing my health in my hobonichi weeks so I do not need all the extra pages in Nisha's planner (though I love the set up of her dailies) I'm going to give it month first to see if I can handle it and if not then I'm going to have to accept that it's going to be scratch paper.... for $125.... and the clear cover is also a terrible fit. It pisses me off when people promote this planner and gloss over the issue like it's okay. It's not. And to be kicked out of her facebook group... well that was icing on the cake, wasn't it. I wasn't even trying to be nasty. Lol. Lesson learnt I guess. >_<

    Thanks for sharing this. My planner looks to be ok at first glance other than the Sanzen paper issue - and I’m really hoping I can maintain my current level of not being too bothered throughout the year as this planner is easily the most expensive I’ve ever bought. What does bother me, though, is the experience you’ve had with the company. I think, like most planner enthusiasts this year, we will suck up the paper issues and rely on the big sellers to put pressure on Sanzen, but I do expect good customer service and communication from all sellers. Explaining the issue lies with the paper manufacturer is one thing, but to ignore quality control of the planner production, and, worse, minimise the impact some users feel, is not something I can ignore. Not sure why she would mention Sterling Ink - but seeing as she did, I will happily point out that their customer service is fantastic - as is their quality control. I’ll use the Journey Planner this year - assuming I don’t also find an issue that I can’t get over, at which point I’ll copy the content out then bin it - but right now, I don’t think I’ll be back for one in 2026 - and that is purely down to customer service. Such an avoidable own goal.

    • @Soulfuldocuments
      @Soulfuldocuments หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, yeah. I also believe a lot of people will give grace to the Sanzen issue because it's a planner wide problem, rather than a business issue. I admire your ability to just bin something if it doesn't satisfy your needs, all I keep thinking is I paid $155 (with clear cover) for this. @_@ I do love the planner itself outside of it's issues which is disappointing because I wasn't pleased with Nisha kicking me out of the Facebook group with no warning, even if I wanted to give her a second chance, I don't know if I should. I still feel like maybe my last email was too much for her but she could of at least told me that. 🤷‍♀

      @@Soulfuldocuments I had to make sure I was okay with potentially ditching it before I laid out any money in the first place. I accepted the risk at the outset, so I don’t have to make the decision again - it may look like it’d be easy to do now but there was a bucket full of angst and self-debate before I ever bought it. Thankfully, I haven’t seen any inconsistencies or issues in my copy of the planner, over and above that with the paper, so I should get the use of it this year. My final fallback if paper really does prove an issue for me across all the 2025 planners is that Wonderland222 bought up the last of the pre Sanzen paper as soon as they heard about changes coming down in 2023. They had enough to do their 2025 planners in the the old stuff.

    • @Soulfuldocuments
      @Soulfuldocuments หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's fair. Also, not to freak you out or anything but I have a friend who's Wonderland222 has terrible bleedthrough, which is odd since it is old paper...

      @@Soulfuldocuments 😲 That would upset me! It’s probably my favourite layout now the weekends come in an unstacked option, and gives the best tracker solutions for my needs, though I have never used it in A5 before. I’m going to hope your friend uses very juicy inks and pens! Then again, it does seem to be the norm this year and I’ve had bought it anyway - just makes the choice between it and the SI that bit more difficult. 😊

  • @dorothyevans3864

    Haha - how different we all are! I’ve always wished my other planners had the year calendar on the right not left and was delighted to see Nisha did that. 😅. I don’t use traditional breakfast, lunch, dinner times either, so I’ll either ignore them or white them out. I will add in the time I ate instead though. On the groceries list part, I’m the same as you as list mine in my phone or will take a piece of paper, not this chunky planner. I am going to use it for noting what I have in the fridge and freezer that I want to 😂use up, so I can plan my meals around that. I have meal planning as an action for 2025 supporting both my finance goal and my health goal, so I’m really pleased to have this in one book. Small snack sections may even remind me to eat them in small amounts! Vertical weekly layouts are not my preference for a personal journal but it is the most common, so it’s nothing I’m not used to! Like you, I love how minimal and unobtrusive it is. This planner is for me to record my life, not as my working diary - I use an A6 for that, so I’ll use the monthly and weekly spread to note what I did - I’ll write a quick highlight or summary of the day in the monthly spread and can expand on it in the weekly if I want to, and maybe add in some pics and stickers across the week. On the monthly, I’ll add my goal for the month on the left hand area and add a summary of how I did under it. I’m adding a graph on the right of the monthly to record weight, sleep and steps (all part of getting me to my health goal) - it can go up to 10k/10hrs/10lbs the vertical axis. For me, it’s the dated daily pages that are my biggest peeve on this planner. I can’t abide someone telling me when to write and how much space to use 😂😂 Sometimes I’ll journal for pages and sometimes I won’t put pen to paper at all. I much prefer blank pages so I can add collections, do some brainstorming, doodle, use my journal as I see fit. The timeline on the dailies doesn’t bother me - it’s so unobtrusive it’ll just disappear into whatever mess I make. I was thinking of using washi to cover the dates, but that’ll cause a terrible bump in the planner by the time all of the pages are done, so I’ll use whiteout or get creative with a black pen. When I can’t see the dates it won’t worry me at all. I like the index at the back - I hadn’t realised that was there at first, so a nice bonus, and I’ll use that very last page to log the adulting stuff like boiler servicing and smoke alarm testing etc. I’ll be interested to see how you get on with this planner over 2025 - there aren’t many videos on it beyond an unboxing and flip through. I’ve subbed so will keep an eye out.

      You have some solid ideas that I haven't even thought of! What made you choose JP over a sterling ink? The hump would be an issue especially in a book so thick but I also anticipate my meals section is going to get chunky since I'm thinking over covering all the pages up to use them for something else. xD Yeah, there might be some on Instagram but it's kinda limited on here. Thank you for the sub.There will be definitely more to come! :)

      @@Soulfuldocuments I really wanted to find a single planner that can keep my journal, memories, goals etc all in one place. My diary stuff of to-dos and appts I keep in an A6 but I’m also trialling using my phone alongside it in 2025 with a view to using that in future, so just having a notebook in my bag that I can replace as needed. Because healthy eating is a big part of my 2025 goals, the meal planning section in the JP was a big draw - and tha, together with the tracker pages that are similar to the Wonderland222, swung it for me. It wasn’t an easy change as the goal pages are also different to my norm and I can’t stress enough how much I dislike dated dailies! But they’re not bundled with the weeks or months, and this year the Saturdays and Sundays have separate pages, so I’m prepared to get out the whiteout. I do have a back up plan though - two in fact - a Sterling Ink and a Wonderland222. I bought them now as they have sold out in the past and I don’t want to risk missing out if I need one. I was prepared to lay out the cost as I need that reassurance. If I don’t use them, great - I’ll re-date and use them in the next couple of years by buying stickers instead of books (neither have dated dailies, so the bumps won’t be too bad). I love the quality and feel of SI - have been a fan since she launched, and I love that W222 gives me everything I need in the trackers (except meal planning). I wouldn’t be surprised to learn Nisha took inspiration from W222 in that respect. I’m also trying Just Scribble’s A6 this year as I like her horizontal weekly layout - will see how I get on with the bundled dated dailies! My plan is to ignore the dates and just takes notes etc as I need to. If that doesn’t work I’ll revert to a combination of a dot grid notebook and a slim monthly diary like the Sigel Conceptum or the new SI weekly booklet passport size. I don’t need to keep the A6 day to day notebooks, and they take quite the beating, so I’m fine with skimming off what I need - though they do hang around until I really have to declutter and someone prises them out of my hands, so rewriting doesn’t really happen - I can scan any pages I still want into my digital notes. 😊 This is very much an explore and try out year for me, but I won’t be buying any more planners until the 2027 release at the earliest. Unless I find I really have to have a paper diary as well as a notebook 🤣. I caught a glance at the decoration on your planner - the stickers on your inside covers are gorgeous! I’ve not been a massive decorator in the past - time was factor, but now I’ve stopped working I’m finding others’ treatments of their planners vey inspirational. And now I’m only using the one planner I’m going to set it up and flirt with some decoration in the quiet week after Christmas. In the meantime I’m happy trawling through YT for some ideas.

    Hi, I checked the website and shipping to Australia is expensive. But I like the layout of this planner but there's too many shaded areas. The meal tracker is a good idea. But the meal prep section should be Medication. The best thing is its got the monthly, Weekly, Daily and extra trackers. I would consider getting it for 2026. Thank you for sharing. Will you be using stickers too, it will bulk up quickly.

      Hey, yeah it's kinda ridiculous how much shipping to aus is. I'm grateful she did the reduced shipping for preorders. Medication is a good idea but not everyone takes them. I will be using stickers but I'm not really heavy on them so I don't find that I bulk out my planners as much. I would also like to note that, after this video I did a pen test page and wasn't happy with the results. Noting this is a potential problem for ALL Sanzen paper planners and journals, not exclusive to the JP but still really disappointing, given the I'm very heavy on Tombows. :( I'll be posting a video of it and my set up soon. @@SoulfuldocumentsI’ve seen lots of complaints on this year’s Sanzen paper, one new Indy (I think it was Just Scribble) made the decision to change her paper from a slightly higher weight when she tested it on the proofs. I am using the December monthly as a sort of test bed and so far, although there’s some ghosting from the Tombows it’s nothing I will even notice when I write in January’s spread. I’ve had no bleed-through from them but I haven’t tried a fountain pen yet. The biro/rollerball type is a bigger issue for me as it leaves impressions. 😊
