I quite liked the positioning of the pockets because it meant that they were easier to access when you have your rucksack waist strap fastened. Sorry to hear you got soaked though. Might be worth taking it back to store and having sent to be tested for defects?
So you were quite prepared to be rude about your own brand of jacket but then ended up being really impressed by it? Do you think we are all really thick or maybe all these 'positive' comments are written by your own staff under threat of the sack?

It is yes. They have been quietly developing their own range for a few years now. To be honest I wanted to test a RAB, and was expecting to struggle for things to say about the Matterhorn (this video was just supposed to be an internal "pilot" to see if we could do something more interesting with a product video, so was fully prepared to be rude about it...) In the end was actually quite surprised by it. In the end turns out it's a very nice bit of kit, and for 100 quid an absolute steal.
looks to be a great jacket and down to £99.99 at go-outdoors at the moment! So is North Ridge a brand designed and developed etc by go-outdoors? I can't really find any information about them.
Has to be an improvement over my Craghopper Gore-Tex. Hate wearing it as i get just as wet (sweaty) as if i'd not worn it!. Time for an upgrade. Good luck to all that enter, just make sure you give it to someone who will appreciate it and use it, not just a 'comper'.
Great video, maybe not do it for all your products, you will be there for days! but certainly the more expensive stuff, making a decision is harder when there is more money involved.
