This country had all small family farms.Sad to see what’s happened to this country in the past 40 years!!!!
What's next for the farm
To milk goats
The problem with dairy farming is that it is hugely capital intensive because the goal posts are being constantly moved, very small scale dairy farms are just not able to both generate an income and enough surplus to pay for the upgrades required by the purchaser . Some people like these guys can and do move into niche markets however for most people they don’t have that option. We have gone from small scale to 45 cows to medium sized 180 cows over the last 10 years and aside from land purchase most has been done from cash flow so it has been a slow and incremental increase . We also had family labour available and willing to grow the operation, we looked at alternatives like goat milk and sheep milk etc even organic dairy farming however none of these options proved stable and profitable enough to justify the cost of conversion in our situation, leaving us with the only option being expansion and we will probably continue to expand to c. 300 cows producing c. 200 tonnes of milk solids per annum provided we can secure the land required to achieve this. Regards from Ireland
I think ur going to be in for a big surprise with milking goats
@@SteveHubler-i7z we will see
Why are you selling the cows ?
So we could make room to milk goats
How many goats are u going to milk what are h doing with the milk
@ we are going to milk around 150 goats and ship it
Theres nothing like milking cows ,,its so sad to see farms going down hill or selling out,,,im not saying thats what they are doing ,,it just a fact of life and you can see it
It is sad to see a lot of nice farms sit empty. But we are not going to let our barn sit empty because we are going to milk goats
@countryfarming9839 I hope all works out the way you plan ,,I know a lot of farm's are milking goats
@@warneckefarm6812 I hope it does to thanks for supporting us.
What state are you in?
Wisconsin
@@countryfarming9839 dang, too bad. If your were in a state that allows raw milk you could have kept the cows and made a very good living selling raw milk,
Great herd. What is next for the farm?
We will be milking dairy goats
My cousin and a neighbor milk goats over here in Dunn county. Looking forward to updates
Will be our farm possibly this year for sure next year going to just cash cropping
I hate to see small family farms go by the way side
I remember when we did the same thing on my Uncles farm ..... the place changed. Sure, the workload was lighter, and we had free time.... Time to devote to other projects.....But..... well, you will know what I mean.... Good luck with your future plans
It sucks but Ik we can do better with the goats. Thanks for watching
Sorry to see this happening, hope you do good with the goats.
Thanks, we're going to give it a shot.
A little saddened to see them go. Looking forward to the new farming chapter.
Yes it is
This sucks to see
Yes it does but milking goats will be better for us
Marketing plan for the goat milk?
Sell it in Green Bay wi
I can't wait to see all of the baby goats! ❤
Great video, need to post more!
The 5020 is a few years old but good about of power
Yes it is
Dam you guy run some nice tractors it got to say!
Thanks they are nice
That is so cool that you have the 5020 on the chopper. Wow who would have thought a 50+ year old tractor would still be reporting for work. Even if that 5020 was made in the last year of production, 1972, it would still be 56 years old. Think about it this way. When that 5020 was new, a 56 year old John Deere tractor would have been a 1916 tractor. That tractor would have been a Waterloo Boy with no PTO, no hydraulics, and could do absolutely nothing to chop corn.
Yeah thanks for watching
Farm back home with an 830 on the chopper. And just 2 cylinders on the farm. Thats old lol
Nice way to farm, with well maintain equipments, not too fast to brake every thing with less debt to worry about.
The first tractor I chopped with was a 730 John Deere
Are you not using the silo this year?
The old chain baler makes a good looking bale.
What type of clover? Love the older tractors, they are the money makers.
Great video love the silo way better than a bunch of plastic
Hello What Kind of Tractor is Mowing?

You’re awesome!
These are such relaxing videos! Even though my sisters family has been involved with farming for 40+ years, it was not until her grandson put these videos together for me to realize how much work it takes. Great job B.! She would be so proud of you for carrying on the tradition. 💞
damn the FS25 graphics are fire 🔥 😂😂😂😂😂 🚜
Hello, I am a girl from an Arab country, Algeria. I want to work on Swiss farms, raising cows. I love them and this is my profession. Can you help me?
Why do dairy farmers always have goats? Here in western Canada it's the same. Enjoy your content and supporting you from Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦
