PASS Data Community Summit 2023 Fabric Takeaways
Fabric was released last week and is now generally available for customers to use. The best news is that you can use it without moving away from your current toolset. Using OneLake, Lakehouse architecture and shortcuts, you can use Fabric alongside other tools like Synapse, Power BI and Azure Databricks.

The Dimensional Dilemma and Power BI
มุมมอง 8Kปีที่แล้ว
If star schema design is a data modeling best practice for Power BI, why isn't everyone doing it? Just because the other database practitioners aren't onboard with dimensional modeling best practices doesn't mean that we can't design efficient BI solutions. This demonstration shows how to transform a flat source data set into a fact table and related dimensions.
Power BI DevOps CI/CD Intro & Part 1

Does Power BI support DevOps and CI/CD? Yes but BI projects are different than AppDev projects and must be managed accordingly. After introducing how DevOps and C/CD apply to Power BI project, I demonstrate how to setup a minimal code repository that you can use for any Power BI project. Supporting content is on my blog at SqlServerBi.blog. Start with this post to learn how to keep PBIX files s...

Whats the difference between reference and duplicate when copying tables?
Great video. Thanks.
Where can I find the next parts?
9mins just to tell us to consolidate our steps. I think you need to optimise your videos...
Beautiful views!
Not only that, but it looks much cleaner and professional and is easier to read the flow of steps when you don't have a lot of duplicate steps!!
I see that you use Pbix, thinking more about it I see two problems: 1) about size (large files in got is not a good idea). 2) data permissions, any one that have acesa to repository, can see the data. Do you think in how we can fix these 2 problems?
I hope you are well. I visited your TH-cam Channel. Your content is Excellent. But your Channel is not growing, Because your Content title and Description are not SEO-friendly and do not have Enough Rank tags. This is why there is no Content Coming to the top of TH-cam. As a result, your video SEO Score is very low. If you SEO your videos Properly then the Channel Progress will be very Fast and Subscribers and Views will be Increase. If you want I can solve problems and help you rank your videos Better. If you are Interested Please Let me know. Regards, Sadekul Islam | TH-cam Video SEO Expert
Very nice video! Thanks
hello from 2024 ,power BI has improved and its one of the best visualization tool .
Brilliant- we get frankentables where I work- seems to be the norm. I had often thought of doing this but thought I would have performance issues, that trick at the start not loading it is key 👌
It's really a Great Video!
Thanks, this was a great introduction. It doesn't look like we got anymore on this series, is that still on the table? I also have a question regarding the github repository, would you recommend setting up one single repository for all project files, or would you recommend one per workspace due to the integration capability (one workspace per repository)?
Thank you Paul. If I have two datasets, I need to create two different star schemas? If yes, how can I handle Dim Tables and Facts Tables from both datasets?
Are we ever going to see the rest of these?
cocaine bear ?
I SAW ONE OF THE PIGEON ONES IN CR02BA LOOKED REALLY REAL.... THE PECKING GAVE IT AWAY AND THE WAY IT WAS ON ITS OWN IT FLEW DIFFERENT TOO

Mr Turley, thank you for the wonderful video part 1, and I am looking forward to part 2 and the others. When will you post the new others? Thank you very much!
very informative video on how to handle large dataset. Spot on on showing real business cases and how professionals approach each situation
Nice. I’ve got to get a drone someday
so basically it's just uses Github as a code repository and not a true source of truth for which to extract and update?
Hi ! Amazing video ! But I have a question . Why did you use reference to create a new version of your fact table ? Why didn't you use the first Version of your fact to work ? The first table need to be uploaded to power bi anyway . So I don't understand the reason behind your decision . There is any advantage ? I would have selected Duplicate table for every DIM created in the video .
Keep up with these amazing series my friend, looking forward to parts 2 & 3
Paul, thank you for creating this video.
Thanks Paul for calming me down. I was really freaking out about this.
GREEN!!! Oh No! Should have stuck with the same color. I was hating on the green before even knowing about the screen thing.
Thanks for sharing
Finally, the voice of reason.
Thanks Paul! I love the Nothingness of this 😊
