🇱🇦 MUST DO IN LAOS - CATCH THIS SUNSET IN NONG KHIAW - PHA DAENG PEAK

As I explore Laos, I went further north of Luang Prabang towards a city called Nong Khiaw where I did a hike at Pha Daeng Peak Viewpoint. It was a fairly moderate hike (really steep at some points) but it was one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen! Do comment down below if you are a sunset lover too! As I crossed into Laos from Vietnam, I went to explore a couple of waterfalls in Luang Prabang with a motorbike. I felt that Kuang Si waterfalls was too touristy (or maybe it was just me who don’t really fancy touristy places - but went to explore it anyway to see and experience it myself). Hello! Thank you very much for this video. It's helping me a lot, since I will do this trip next february. Question 1: based on your experience, do you think it's better to find accomodation in Pakbeng once you arrive there, or it's better to book in advance online? 2. Was your hostel a good one? If so, could you tell us the name please?. 3. My family is worried since they have heard about violence related to drug traficking in the Golden Triangle / Northern Laos. Have you heard or seen anything about it?

    • @NoFlightNomad
      @NoFlightNomad 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey there thanks for watching! 1) I think it’s better to book it in advance because the whole boat would be fighting for the good value ones. But with that said, there are PLENTY of accommodation in Pakbeng so no worries even if u arrive there and walk-in. 2) yes it was a great hostel! It’s called Dorm Riverside and they can pack breakfast/lunch for u when u depart to Luang Prabang the next day! It also offers a great view of the Mekong River. 3) oh yes I heard about that online but I saw nothing about it in real-life. I didn’t feel unsafe at any point at all (coming from someone who crossed thai/laos land borders many many times) so don’t have to worry about it! Hope this helps and enjoy your boat ride! (:
