in this time of year there’s one thing that you see
decorations bright on a Christmas tree
traditions of the world try to change the story
but we all know the truth about another tree
for Christ gave His life on a rugged tree
it wasn’t all aglow or beauty to be seen
for His blood, it flowed down from Calvary’s tree
the Light of the World died for you and me
people all around worship the baby
they know Him as a child born in a stable
but those who know my Lord
know He came from glory
not just to be born, but to die just to save me
so i tell you i know of another Christmas tree
