Kefir87: I believe the comparison was being made to the "like" areas in the US that they couldn't find unobstructed areas in the US but did find "like" areas in Romania. Very beautiful country, obviously, and with some "old world charm"! Would love to visit!!

They have telephones and electricity in Romania. What is more, they also have telephone and electricity poles. I know it's hard to believe, but they even have cars.

Watching this video reminds me of an old Manhattans song, "HERE COMES THE HURTING AGAIN". Tears are starting to fall like they did the moment I heard Whitney had passed. I do think that Kevin had true feelings for Her whether he openly admits it or not. How could he not. The atmosphere was there during the time they worked on the Bodyguard. I could clearly feel his emotions during his speech. I love Whitney and always will, for life.....What a great spirit and beautiful person!!!!

I saw a recent interview with Kevin where he discussed the funeral. He doesn't look to good...kind of sick. I pray he and Whitney's family will recover from this and be happy again...I really do. God bless you Whitney and take good care of those who truly loved you. R.I.P X

its not a betrayal they guys explained it...they went to romania because its almost the identical lifestyle of the 1800's with the carriages and horses, more realistic to do it there

The producers of the mini-series also produced a 2 hour documentary with local re-enactors in Huntington, West Virginia. It airs on History Channel on June 2nd at 4pm before an encore showing of the mini-series. You can find an article about it at the dailymail online in the food and living section.

They wouldn't have filmed in Romania if they could have afforded to film in the US!! Could they really film in the area where Hatfields and McCoys lived without having telephone and electrical poles in the way? Since this was behind the scenes, the guy in the vest with what looks like a paint ball gun evidently is making something happen in the film. Smoke? "Red blood?" It would be interesting to know what it was used for!

I kind of think that was pretty rude to make a movie series about this area and take it somewhere else to do it! b. They didn't use the music of the era (traditional mountain music like that of The Roan Mountain Hilltoppers), instead it was the more progressive theatrical music. c. Back to they should have kept it in this area, it would have been a boost to this economy. In fact, it's a betrayal.

a. uh, when were the Hatfields and McCoys in Romania? They claimed it is because it was cheaper to make the movie there, let's see, how about we add up all those plane tickets, food, equipment, etc? They didn't want to make it here because they didn't want to deal with the Southern mentality, government land rights, or pay someone for the use of their land (many people out there would have been honored to have a movie made on their land and wouldn't have charged a thing).

I dont care how this world preceived Whitney... I will always love you... my prayer is for strength for her family...
