as long as the wind is not in your face the 13th is usually drivable.
i wouldnt say the sound was depressing,the deeper tone sounded better,as you say it faded away into the fog,iv only heard the siren type on youtube,its a pity the foghorns are not still used.
thats right the sound is like a cow moo-ing.
I belive it is called a dibol or rylee trumpet, sounds like an angry cow mooing, right?
the foghorn arrived in the early 1900s,with its atlantic paraffin engine,it was replaced by 3 kelvin diesel engines in 1955,it was used to warn ships of the rocky coastline up until 1987 when it was shut down,its not a siren type noise more of a deep drone sound.
oh a siren type, does it still work?
