using GRANULAR SYNTHESIS to make TECHNO
Hey all,
I hope you're doing well!
In this video, we look at a quick way to make interesting textures and sounds for your techno tracks.
by using granulator 2: www.ableton.com/en/packs/granulator-ii/
and ML-185 sequencer: maxforlive.com/library/device/75/ml-185-stage-controlled-sequencer
You can achieve the same results using any samples you might have.
Oh, and I'm not going to appear in every video; I'll make a full appearance when I feel the need for it and when I feel more comfortable on camera!
but for now. I hope you guys enjoy a good old screen recording.
I also have some exciting news for you all that I will share in the coming weeks! It has something to do with controlling and mixing...

Raw hypnotic techno like Mike Parker, Flaws, and Decoder from scratch.
มุมมอง 1.2Kหลายเดือนก่อน
hey :) Making this song was a lot of fun, though I had some trouble with the arrangement because I accidentally recorded a few extra bars and threw off the sequencing. Nevertheless, I was able to work around it. Shout out to @samg5753 for suggesting this. I found it all to be pretty intuitive, even though it was all new to me, and I kept getting lost in the patterns. Should I release this as a ...

You are the gooooat ! Could you show us how you would go making a track similar to beau didier ? thx man and keep up the good work !
I listened to whoomp! And fell in love Do you have any other favorite tracks?
been grooving making something similar to this thanks for the tutorial :)))))))))
Your music is so goood to me I LOVE IT i have a question. What program do you use?
@@user-wu1kn5gv9t hey man thank you! I use Ableton 🔥
NICE!
A little more work should be done on the lower frequencies. Unless you have a really solid lower frequency balance, it will not be suitable for club and DJ mixing.
@@yirmisekizarti3 noted
That baseline is insane mate. Could you please do a tutorial on making baseline grooves at some point?
@@ethannodder8923 hey bro, thanks a lot for the nice comment! I have made a video on how I make grooves in general and the same method can be applied for basslines You can watch it here: th-cam.com/video/1JH8o2b5jp8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JD2rF2EknXMK6L7o But if you want a video specifically on basslines I’d do it👍 Cheers
maybe try add more girth to the kick, like saturaton or some analog simulation
@@yassinetalbi5884 will give it a go!
great videos but the volume is very low... keep the good work!
Is it low??? I was stressing that it was too high 😪😂

where is the 100 aut.adv from?
It’s a preset I made which you can make too Just group the plugins you want together or in this case the state of the plugin which is a high pass auto filter and there’s a floppy disk icon in the left corner, click that and you should be able to rename it to whatever you like 👍
@@nicnicnicschannel Thanks bro let me know when the discord will be out

Bro.. are you stoned?
😂😂nah bro this is just me normally
thanks so much man i started for 2 weeks ago and this helped me conceptualize instruments in their groups like for example i didnt even know high hats belong in the drum family haha. I love u man. Also would love if you can start a discord
You’re welcome man! Glad you’re learning from the videos ☝️I do have a discord server in the works but it’s bare bones at the moment, I’ll get it set up by my next video
start: 1:33
Hey! I absolutely love your content! New subscriber here :) I’m a complete beginner and would appreciate any tips you have. How was it for you when you started? Any instruments one should learn first before going into techno?
Hey welcome 🙌thanks for joining us I’d say learn the Ableton shortcuts depending on what operating system you use Such as duplicating, deleting, creating a midi clip etc. These make the process much more efficient Learn Experiment, experiment and experiment For me getting started was quite scary but through my curiosity I learnt a lot of small details that others never really showed on TH-cam Watch more tutorials They help a lot Find what works best for you I wouldn’t say you need to learn any instruments but definitely learn the basics of synthesis so you can feel comfortable on any soft synth I’ll let you know if I have any more tips👍
Thank you!! Please share later on if you can🔥
why do you sidechain the kick? thanks:) pd: you're a genius
Hey, I sidechain the kick to create a pumping effect, which is quite a common thing to do And thanks 🙏
Super useful as always!! I'm happy I've realised my workflow is similar to this. I think it is called "Substractive arrangement" in which you create a 5-6 minutes loop and then you remove clips to shape the track. First thing I do is this and then I use the autofilter on the low end channel to create bridges and breaks. After that I start with automations to add/remove elements and also add chrashes, white noises and so on to create tension and transitions. Once I have this, then I add vocal chops or even another main element that makes things change after the second drop. Thanks for sharing, as always <3
Super glad to hear that man, keep doing what works best for you ❤️
Hello, I like your music very much. I'm curious about something. Do you use music theory in such unique works? Did I express it correctly? haha (drums tuning , harmonic etc...
thank you mate, you expressed it correctly haha and yeah I mostly use it in the tuning of drums, and harmonic functions come in too for example when the bass line is in c minor ill make sure everything else stays in that scale. Im not a music theorist and i dont know much about it but I can kinda tell when something is out of tune with the rest and it takes some shifting around to get it sounding right although with drum heavy music like this i tend to overlook most theory and just go with what feels natural.
Keep 'em coming! Would also love to see a livestream with you starting an idea from scratch!!
yes bro! could be a 600 subscriber special :)
Ah the workflow of re samppling and than changing the starting point of the loop is great. I should do that more. Great video man. Inspiring stuff
Absolute game changer 🔥give it a go

Thank you brother
Finally, the Algorithm delivers 👍

Hey, I`m using the Sting in the second Version
What do you mean?
@@nicnicnicschannel I think he mistook Sting made by Iftah for second V of Skinnerbox's one
Bro! This content is amazing. I was also checking and following you on Bandcamp and your tracks are sick!! If you want more ideas, I think it will be super useful to understand how we can use Ableton to generate melodies and synths like the ones you use on your track "Tooslow" from your Lehm* EP EDIT: I've just watched it using Analog Sound :))
