This is why emulating is entirely justifiable. If you want the same feeling of a console just run them of them on a modded console. I personally have every single Pokémon game from gens 1-7 on a single modded 2ds and it’s great! And I even can even move everything into bank as well! (Yes you can slo just download bank and run it that’s what I did.) to transfer gens 3-4 Pokémon takes some know how with pk hex as the original transfer methods require either a physical cartridge or another console.

I think there are a couple of reasons as to why Pokémon game prices tend to increase rather than decrease. 1. Used Pokémon games come with whatever Pokémon that were on the original save file. Even if you intend to start a fresh save, you can always trade/transfer off any Pokemon you want to add to your own collection. It almost makes buying used more fun/valuable than brand new. It also means that used prices aren’t much cheaper than new ones. 2. Those particular TH-cam shiny hunters who want to go for “full odds” shinies, and then proceed to buy MULTIPLE copies and game systems so they can shiny hunt in all of them all at once. Like dude, is it really full odds if you’re running 7-8 games at once? More importantly, you’re hogging so many copies of the game JUST to shiny hunt. That also inflates the price/scarcity.

So thrilled I never sold my old games... Still gotta get HeartGold and Black 2, but super pleased with everything elsse

And that’s why I buy JP copies to save money even if I don’t know Japanese, because even if I am emulating them, I’d still like to own an official version. Also any mainline pokemon games gen 6 and onward have english support no matter the country it’s from.

Nintendo NEEDS to bring back the DS/3DS and their games, with the right marketing, adding some newer titles, it can go off without a hitch! Bring back these games, the newer generation of our time need them now more than ever before!
