    Got it today, we mainly do timber framing, it is some piece of art with high functionallity. Price is quite fair but then again, we are used to Mafell tools. In the end supporting good and innovative companies is worth it more then buying knock offs to just save a bunch.

    Guys I like how you try to reinvent the wheel and a T square is one of my daily use tools but this is too much. If I want a square I'll buy a good square, same with a T square. I have too much to lose in materials and time by swapping, changing and caliibrating set ups. That just doesn't work for me. My most used 90° square is a 1970's German made wonder. Accurate, tough and set for 1 angle that I can bet my life on. Sorry but this is just too much hassle, it's like an automatic car with a clutch. I would like to see a nice T square with drill guides, at least 2. Something i could quickly set up for say drilling door handles or shelf supports. Multi use anything is always a failure, from tools to fighter jets, anything that tries too hard fails.

    I am actually fed up with cheap sliding bevels and even if this is a tool that I reckon most are happy with the basic stuff I just don't care and in due time will order one: 130 quid is a lot of money for such a tool but for those spending 400 quid plus on a Martinez (not me!0 I am sure this will taste like candy! All in all this must be probably the first sliding bevel that people will really wanna have which just tells all there is to be said.

    • @TrigJigTools
      @TrigJigTools 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! Very well said. We're happy with it. As you say it's definitely not a cheap sliding bevel. Hopefully it's clear the extra cost of our tools hasn't gone into our pockets but pays for product development and the high costs of running of a western tool company, plus the actual tool itself. Personally that's what I want when buying tools like this.

    It is a beautiful tool. Perhaps you can add an extra color to indicate which side the numbers refer to. I think it would be useful if I could carry this tool with me. A clip on the tool so you can attach it to your pocket. If you make the clip movable you can still lay the tool flat on the wood.

    Your heart is in the right place when it comes to quality, but everyone and their brother is making Tri-Squares, Angle Gauges, etc. Comeuppance with something new, unique, and hasn't been done a million times over. At this point, there are too many variations done to the same tools and yet everyone still buys the same ones over and over. Create something NEW, USEFUL, AND ACCURATE. Oh, and at a price that the average person can afford and not go into debt for.

    • @TrigJigTools
      @TrigJigTools 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely. Our company philosophy is to make innovative tools or tools that are better than anything else on the market. If it can be both then that's great. Price is a difficult one when people are used to paying for tools made in the far east. Factories there are heavily subsidised. Premises, energy and staff costs in the west are more than 10x what they cost in the far east, and manufacturers like us get very little support from the government (unlike China). So we have to compete on quality rather than price. I understand that puts us out of reach of some people, but competing on price alone with far eastern made tools sold on Amazon and Ebay is a non-starter for us. For the last decade our customers seem to approve.

  • @dp1381
    @dp1381 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    There’s a simple solution to the problem of cheap combination square that break: buy a good quality one. No need to reinvent a tool that has been working well for a long time. I see no advantage to your design.

    • @TrigJigTools
      @TrigJigTools 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's very difficult to source a good quality combi square these days. They're nearly all made in the far east. Even then, there's an inherent flaw built into the design of a standard tool that uses a hooked bolt to pull the rule into position. Stress fractures are inevitable over time. Our design removes this flaw completely.
