1,000 YARD RIFLE CLAY PIGEON CHALLENGE EP-1
Welcome to the 1,000-yard Rifle Clay Pigeon Challenge hosted by Roaming Shot Outdoors! A monthly challenge where we take up to 5 fans to come test their marksmanship on clay pigeons from 100 to 1,000 yards.
On the range, we have 5 sets of clays at each of the berms, from 100
out to 1,000 yards. Shooters will fire at their assigned lane starting at
the 100-yard berm and work out to 1,000 in 3:30
minutes and 15 rounds total. Shooters must hit their
clay to proceed to the next distance in a modified know-your-limits
format. Points will be earned increasing at each distance. 10 at 100,
20 at 200 and so on for a total of 550 points.

We will soon have a privately owned open to the public 1000 yard Range in slaughter Louisiana. Here is just a short preview of our progress
❤❤So the second shooter had allot of problems chamberin ,,it blows my mind how expensive allot of this rifles are yet there terrible at chambering a round !!! and its so common its ridiculous ,one day i can only hope that someone spends the time on making that chambering function a simple one !!
where are you guys located at?
@@christopherscott6794 we are in Slaughter, La
Couldn’t believe how many feeding and action issues on the first two fellas, for the price of them setups they should run flawlessly, good vid mate, subbed, cheers Yogi 🤙✌️🇦🇺
Yeah. Most guys first time on camera it was more nerves then the rifles.
Are those Houses back there on the other side of your Berm?
No not for miles
Just found this video and enjoyed it a lot. Subscribed.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You would think that a 5000 dollar rifle wouldn't have these problems with loading !
@@russhayes4882 it was more nerves then the rifle
Great job guys! That's a good challenge!!! Next go around will be a bit easier
Gotta love the good ol 308
That poor guy does not know how to run that ai
It’s tough with a camera and a bunch of people watching you when you have never done it before.
Basic build shooting 308 wins. Amazing how many FTFs on the chassis rifles.
Wonder if that is where lot's single feed practicing and haven't run their mags much?
the short 6s like 6br, 6dasher and 6gt are finicky. takes mag tuning for them to be real good.
@@McgSpook Thanks, only similar cartridge I have loaded and shot is 22ppc. I can see where the short, fat cartridge with sharp shoulder degree could cause issue. Being as I'm built similiar!😅
@@kentuckywindage222 no idea about that AI in 6.5 though. no excuses on that one lol
Good stuff guys!
Thank you it was fun to do
@roamingshot subscribed, look forward to more 🍻
@@tonygillahan thank you we will do another challenge at the end of the month
10:52 are you sure that was a hit?
Yes it went through the clay at the 1 o’clock position
The most fun to watch was the last shooter basic gear still shooting super good.
Very good shooting, how to calculate the bullet from 100 to 1000 yards?
Everybody there is running some sort of ballistic program they get to zero their rifle at 100 yards when they get there and true velocity at 1000 yards
@@roamingshot Ok if you have a good bullet counting software please guide me
Slapping that trigger like it owed you money
Looks like a fun challenge. Everyone except the 308 had feeding issues and he did great. Work on tuning your mags.
I agree there’s a lot of feeding issues. Some of it may be mechanical a lot of it was nerves , the camera and a dozen people sitting there watching you makes a little tough. Thanks for your feedback.
Seems like everyone was having fun, good shooting. Were some of the pigeons rubber instead of clay or were the shoots just zipping thru? A lot of the called hits looked like misses, not saying they were, just difficult to see, maybe zoom in a little closer. Also why are shooters running the bolts like they were loosening 18 wheeler lug nuts lol. Thanks for the video though, I enjoyed watching it, look fwd to the next one.
Everybody’s first time on camera everybody was nervous lol. Trying to film through a spotting scope can’t zoom in too far on the first couple targets due to having to quickly engage the next one. We will get better at it. The champion clay pigeons did not explode like the other brand so the bullets were just zipping through them on the closer shots. We purchased some active plays for the next challenge we do. Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed it.
didn't help that while we were doing the interview portion it rained on the freshly placed clays. I think it softened em a bit. doing a dry run a few weeks prior they all shattered.
Great content- just upgrade video on targets so we can see hits and misses better
We’re working on that. We found a reactive Clay pigeon that should show impact better. Thank you for the feedback.
Loving the content you are putting out guys. Thanks for making us a part of it.
Glad you enjoy it!
