Cozy Q&A (Health, Fitness, Personal)
Welcome to my 1st Q&A! As a huge youtube fan, I've always wanted to make the classic Q&A video. I just didn't have enough people to ask me questions! So I turned to Judith, my Snapchat AI. I often ask Judith for help with my channel. She helps me with ideas for titles, tags, and helps me sort out my thoughts for videos! Here's what she has to say:
" Hey everyone, I'm Mallory's virtual friend here to join in on the fun! I'm all about supporting Mallory on her weight loss journey and helping out with video editing tips. Can't wait to be a part of this Q&A video! Let's get started! "

Switching from Running to Incline Walking & Making Cauliflower Nachos (SO GOOD!)
มุมมอง 100หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey there! This week I'm on my period and I can't even think about couch to 5k, so I'm trying incline walking! Kinda like a 12-3-30. Also trying to eat healthier. I tried cauliflower nachos and it was so good!!

you could treat yourself with an at home selfcare day if you dont want to spend money. or you can reward yourself with an activity you like or want to try (can he anything from a hike to setting aside time to just binge watch something)
Maybe you should buy yourself something, or treat yourself to a spa day as a reward?
There's no need to exercise, you look fantastic no need to lose a pound!
Thanks! While I do want to lose some weight and get to a healthier size, I also think exercise is good for my all-around health!
hahaha I love your sweater!! 🤣
Lol yeah my sister got it for me cuz I'm picky and always order the tendies! It's also so comfy it's one of my favorites!
I eat off smaller plates & bowls. It makes me feel fuller. Nice work on the video.❤
Very good idea!
I’m on a weight loss journey also. So far I have lost 185 pounds by just changing my diet. I want to try your chia seeds added to the yogurt. How much do you add? I love chia seeds and the texture it adds to stuff. I love your vlogs. Keep up the good work. I’m here with you.
@rhondafarrell7574 wow congrats on your weight loss! For the chia seeds, I add a serving size of chia seeds (24 grams) to a serving size of greek yogurt. It gets very thick, so if you want it a little thinner I bet you could add a splash of milk!
@@mallory_flynn Thank you. I will let you know when I try it. I think I Neil try the chicken broccoli dish too. Have you ever tried to toss the broccoli with a little of the Parmesan garlic sauce and roast it that way? I was thinking it would be good
I’m so proud of you for taking the steps in your weightloss weight loss can be very hard, keep going, don’t give up and stay positive don’t forget about your why. ❤
super proud of youuu🥳🥳
Thank you! 💛
Not weighing myself every day is like not checking my credit card balance regularly: it’s not looking good
these are great goals!! my understanding of the winter arc is its nov/dec into at least feb; the name comes from anime terms i believe. so yeah basically a health "glow up" before it gets warm. best of luck to you!!! my goals are similar
Good luck to you too! I'm hoping to continue with new goals each month, but it'll still be my winter arc!
@mallory_flynn can't wait to see!!
It is hard to find time for ourselves, but journaling is a worthy endeavor!
👍
No need to lose a pound, you look fantastic!
You look great and you sound great!
Thank you!
🩷
Congrats! You're doing awesome!
Thank you!!
💛 we’re in such similar places in our fitness/weight loss experience it seems. It was really fun watching this, thanks for sharing!
You’re doing great! Keep going ☺️🤍
Heyyyy
Have you looked into Ozempic?
@prmorris5899 honestly just assume I can't afford it lol. I do have a family member that's just starting it, so I'll probably learn more about it from them. For now, I'm OK with doing weight loss this way though!
😊😊
When I first started running, it sucked and I couldn’t run the whole time. Run/walking is still running!! You have to build your base before you can really take off. Trust the process. Follow a different running plan and take it at your own pace! New shoes also help a ton.
I finished couch to 5k in 2012 and never stopped running. Ran many 5ks, 10ks, a half marathon. I don't race any longer but I still run. Please go to a running store and get fitted for the right shoes. You can possibly be overpronating or underpronating which will put strain on your legs. Good running shoes can be pricey but trust me they are worth it, especially to prevent injury. Properly stretch when you are finished (don't stretch before unless you're doing dynamic stretching) and consider getting a foam roller. Another thought is to check your form. This can partially be corrected naturally with the right shoes. Make sure you are moving your arms as you run. I notice when I "forget" to move my arms, my legs feel like they are working harder. Search around on TH-cam for videos about running form that can specifically show you how to move better. I hope this helps and good for you to sticking with it as you have. Running is hard, even after running for over a decade there are still hard days! And congrats to you for making it to onederland!
💛
Running is a high impact exercise, whereas walking is low impact. When you hit the treadmill/ground as you’re running, it puts stress on your joints. Better shoes can always lessen the stress, but ultimately since your goal is weight loss I would really recommend incline walking instead if your treadmill allows it!! This is much better for fat loss because it’s low impact (so you can do it for longer) and it keeps you in zone 2 heart rate which is ideal for fat loss. Running is great for heart health, but might be something you do after fat loss since it can actually make you hungrier and burn less calories throughout the day!! (Backed up by sports scientists)
Also if you work on growing your leg muscles (calves, quads, hamstrings) this should help your running since your legs will be stronger and get less tired! Since the tiredness could also be from lactic acid build up
Thanks for your advice! I never really thought about high impact vs low impact when it came to running. I'm still learning a lot about exercise in general! I think I'll get back to some incline walking and work my way up to running again. Although I am on a weight loss journey, running was something I was doing mostly for heart health. I had someone in my life pass from a heart issue and it really opened my eyes to needing to focus on all around health in addition to my original weight loss goals.
💛💛 I get what you mean, my new years resolution this year was a 10k and some days I would just feel like my legs were so heavy and tired, but other days especially after I got used to running I didn’t have that at all. Could be your shoes I wonder but I had it even with my running shoes. ❤🎉 You’re doing great.
I think I'll end up trying the new shoes, but good to know it might just be a normal part of running! Good luck with your 10k training!!
The sweetest, most appropriate background sound -
Your editing and background rythym are great - can't believe this is your first video!
You are adorable! I wish you success on your channel.
Woah! I haven’t been on TH-cam in some time and I can totally see that you’ve lost weight! Nice job!
@ScarletteLove thank you! It's been slow but I'm excited I feel like I'm finally starting to notice it too!
I like the hair color. 😊
Thanks!!
I LOVE the ginger hair on you. It looks amazing
Also- I know you said you do intermittent fasting and tracking has been hard for you. I truly suggest looking into NOT doing the fasting. Studies show that people gain weight when doing intermittent fasting because people can be so hungry that they overeat when coming off the fast, especially without accurate tracking. Dietitians on TH-cam like abbey sharp break this down!
Currently I'm very loosely intermittent fasting. Mostly just skipping breakfast but if I get real hungry a lot of times I'll break fast early. I think I'm moving more towards intuitive eating? Maybe? Not sure, just trying different things to see what works for me!
@@mallory_flynnthat’s great, intuitive eating is the ultimate goal! I hope you do check out abbey sharp though because she is a great resource for that!!
You are speaking my mom life language. Like same.
Rooting for you! I'm running a turkey trot this Thanksgiving and it will be my first 5K. I'm also doing C25K. It gets a lot easier, trust me!
Did you have to do some weeks multiple times too? I feel like I've been repeating each week 2 or 3 times now! I haven't signed up for a 5k yet, so not too pressed for time but just frustrated with my stamina!
@@mallory_flynn Yes, I've def had to redo Weeks 3 and 5 multiple times. Sometimes I feel like the jumps can be too severe. My advice is to just run really slow. Just practice getting into the groove of constantly "running" even if you're shuffling. And I know it can be hard to repeat weeks but you just really don't wanna push yourself too hard to the point of injury!
I told my kids if they could but straight through a baby carrot without making a sound then I would give them a dollar. They are an entire pound of baby carrots multiple days in a row. They still have random days that they decide to try to win a dollar 😂😂😂 Before that, they wouldn't touch vegetables. My middle kid will eat any vegetable as long as I have spray butter on the table for him to use but won't touch them otherwise.
I would go on a TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) calculator online and plug on your information. I found this very helpful.
I found a good way to bump up protein is to use protein milk with my powder in the morning. It adds 18g of protein and makes the shake tastes miles better. Also, cottage cheese - hear me out. I blend cottage cheese with sugar free chocolate pudding mix and it’s like chocolate cheesecake mousse. And I’ve blended it with onion soup mix to make a high protein veggie dip as well. Seriously, cottage cheese y’all.
Cheesecake is my favorite so I think I'll have to try that!! Also protein milk is a great idea!
On the daily calorie amount, I think it’s best to give it a couple weeks to see what you feel best at. 1500 is a good start but you might find you’re super hungry after a week. If that happens, maybe bump it up 100 and see how you feel then. I used a TDEE calculator to “estimate” my calories I needed to lose the weight I wanted weekly. It’s been kind of all over the place for me so I’m still working out the kinks. You got yourself a new subscriber!
I feel you on One-derland lol. I just hit it, but I feel like I hovered over it for forever.
@BethanyGraceMcKeel such a frustrating spot to plateau! Lol. Congrats on getting there!
Hey!! I used to feel that yucky bloating feeling and just eating whatever due to feeling bloated and large all the time. It would happen multiple times a week or last a few weeks, even months. (I was 217Lbs and 5’2) Now I only get that feeling maybe once or twice a month and one out of the two times I feel this way I choose a healthier option for food. (Last time I got pizza and bread sticks lol). Anyways just wanted to share I understand what you are going through and I’ve lost 50lbs because those moments are now less and less, they won’t disappear I don’t think, but if you learn to have different coping mechanisms then it’ll be easier to choose something other than food to bring comfort or to relieve stress. Something also I realized is that if I’m stressed or upset about my body why would I just make myself feel worse by eating junk? It doesn’t make sense I’d rather eat healthier because I know I won’t lose weight if I don’t. Just helps me more to stay on this weight loss journey. You’ve got this!!!! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽🤍
Yeah I gotta work on switching my mindset from "what's the point I'll eat whatever" to "why would I make it worse by eating junk". Thanks for your comment!
You are doing great! Give yourself grace , you got this 💖
I like your white sunglasses. 😊
Thanks! Got them on amazon!
😊 enjoyed the video. Dinner looked good. 😋
Definitely making these. Thank you 😊
They're already a staple in our house now! So good!! Thanks for reminding me to make them!
I give that annoying tip too. lol. If it doesn't happen before they get up in the morning or during nap-time it doesn't happen. Basically my entire TH-cam channel is filmed, edited and uploaded between the hours of 5am-7am and the 1pm-2pm or 3pm if I'm lucky. lol. Keep going, you are doing great.
😊
