Suffolk Hang Gliding Club - Tandem Experience Sep 2024
The Suffolk Hang Gliding Club, located 20 minutes from Ipswich, is where East Anglian hang glider pilots and their machines are winched into the sky by a static-winch.
In September 2024 four guests joined the club for an air experience getting winched 800ft in the air. There they had a taste of flight under a hang glider and witnessed what Hang Gliding in the UK offers: a friendly informal sociable club environment where everyone mucks in to experience the dream of flying like a bird!
Mendlesham, where the club and winch is based, is a former World War II airfield, now with only a grass strip remaining it provides an excellent location with great meteorology which sees the club members fly to Southwold and Lowestoft quite regularly. The current XC record from Mendlesham is all the way to the other side of the M1 near Northampton!!!

God bless those rotors. I don't see red marked limits on rotor RPM meter. It went quite high up. Don't wanna test the rotor hinges.
