Soo the road markings only appear on the road after you are not allowed change lanes anymore? Did I see that correctly? Because that doesn’t make sense at all then. If it is three lanes, then you should probably keep right (by law) even if you want to go left, until you could not safely keep continuing on the right to make the necessary lane changes. I get that the car is doing something stupid, but those roadmarkings don’t help.

Teslas are great cars. I don’t think it’s smart to put your life in the hands of a robot though. What if this happened to someone else who was drunk or high behind the wheel and didn’t recognize what was going on? OBVIOUSLY, they shouldn’t be behind the wheel anyway but it worries me that people will feel comfortable doing things like that because the car can “drive itself”. Malfunctions do happen. I just don’t think it was the best idea in all honesty.

It's still early days. I'm not American, but here In the UK we have many roads that don't meet highway code or "normal" layout. Since FSD learns off real driving, if it's a common mistake the tesla will mimic it.
