Thank you very much Elise. I watched this video a few days ago along with some other ones. I took the test today and ... I passed. It was really helpful, thank you again, merci beaucoup, grazie mille, gracias, spaciba, trugarez, Danke sehr, Dank u well. 🙏
Hi Kristin, of course! iPEC (coach training program): www.ipeccoaching.com/ This is the training I completed to become a Certified Professional Coach. Lyssa DeHart's trainings: academy.lyssadehart.com/link/YiLcW7 (affiliate link) I used Lyssa's materials to help me study to pass the ICF assessment. Wishing you the best! -Elise
Thank you so much for sharing. I watched it yesterday evening, along with some other videos, to supplement my studying. I took the test today and am happy to report that I passed. Yay!
Hi Elise, Thank you for the video. I'm from South Korea and I want to get Pcc But I have no Idea where to start. It would be great If you would guide me and explain to me how to be get Mcc. Thank you in advance:)
Best of luck with your endeavors! The ICF website would probably be the best place to start coachingfederation.org Is search for an ICF chapter in your area 🙂
Great sharing about the exam. I appreciate the acronym that you used. You mentioned an education named Lisa, but I did not get the last name. I will search thru TH-cam and hopefully find her. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks Elise, very helpful and insightful! Good tactics to read the answers first and than the case. Did this reduce your time consumed by rfeadaing the case first. And, question: did you also try to only read the answers and the case not at all?
I do feel I was able to move more quickly through the questions when I read the answers first. But I did read the entire scenario (question) all the way through, usually twice. So glad you've found this helpful!
Thanks for this video. I find the "read the answers first" helpful. I have my exam in 2 days. I also did not know that I can write something on a whiteboard, so I will take the idea of an acronym. I do it online so we will see.
Wishing you the best! If you're taking it remotely, they may give you access to an onscreen "white board" to use instead of allowing a physical one at your desk. Let us know how it goes, and keep up the good work :-)
Big thanks, Elise, for sharing your tips - they did help me stay focused and I have just passed the exam! I wrote down the 8 competencies to have them in front of me and I followed your tip on reading the answers first. Thanks a lot again! Cheers!
Thanks Elise, when you didn’t pass, you will not get the reasons or where to focus on as any professional body!! Also, you can’t build an exam based on gray colours. Anyway congratulations 🥳
Thank you for creating this very real and helpful video Elise! I am also taking my ACC exam this month and have been studying a lot of content so I appreciated the details about the actual exam logistics as well as the acronym!
Congratulations Elise and I want to say a heartfelt thank you for doing this video. It was very helpful and whether you know it or not, your pre exam emotions and feelings are much the same for many of us. I'm preparing to take the exam for the ACC and would love to know the resources you used in your preparation. Let me know if I should forward my email or how you may communicate those resources to me. I'm much appreciative.
Of course, Nischelle! Yes, I used the acronym here in the video, as well as resources from Lyssa DeHart (affiliate link here: lyssadehart.podia.com/a/dt7dv) I took her free course, but she has others. Have you scheduled your exam so far?
Hi Cornelius, good point. Yes, some of the questions all include answer options that include the coaching asking the client something. For these, I tried to consider the motivations of the question. -Does the ASK support the client? -or does it only satisfy the coach's personal curiosity? -Does the answer evoke awareness for the client on their "who" and what they believe about themselves or the situation? Of course, I don't know which questions I missed/passed, but this is what I did. All the best! -Elise
Thank you, I cleared my exam and your video really supported in reframing my anxiety. I will be sharing the tips to support others, too@@lifecoachelise
Congrats on passing and thank you so much for sharing your experiences! I'd love to learn more about the strategies and tactics you used when you wrote down on the scratch paper. I was off by a few points and would love to learn more ways to memorize
Hey there and thanks for your comment. The acronym EMATS PLAG I outline in the video for the core competencies was very helpful! Also keep in mind the behavioral markers that might be embodied in the WORST answers: -Is the coach telling the client what to do (consulting, advice, etc)? -Is the coach LEADING the client? -Is the coach inappropriately praising or celebrating the client (inserting their own judgement on what the client shared)? -Is the coach keeping secrets or failing to be transparent? I hope this helps--wishing you all the best!
Hi there! I wish you all the best with the taking and passing of your exam! Have you tried reaching out to the ICF with your registration question so far? coachingfederation.org/credentials-and-standards/credentialing-exam
When considering which of the four answers was the "worst", I found it helpful to identify which of the 8 core competencies were being violated. In other words: 1. Are there any ETHICAL violations in this scenario? 2. Which of the answer options is NOT displaying a coaching MINDSET? 3. Where are AGREEMENTS not being established & honored? 4.Which of the answer options could make a client feel unSAFE or unTRUSTing of the coach? 5. Which of the answer options indicates the coach isn't being PRESENT with the client? (or is self-focused, rather than client focused). 6. Which answer option might demonstrate that the coach isn't ACTIVELY LISTENING? 7. Is the coach EVOKING AWARENESS with this client? 8. Which of the answer options isn't helping to facilitate client GROWTH? Also keep in mind the behavioral markers that might be embodied in the WORST answers: -Is the coach telling the client what to do (consulting, advice, etc)? -Is the coach LEADING the client? -Is the coach inappropriately praising or celebrating the client (inserting their own judgement on what the client shared)? -Is the coach keeping secrets or failing to be transparent? I hope this helps--wishing you all the best!

@@mahsa33 I'm sorry I missed this comment! How did your exam go?
How did you figure out the questions where they may have had all “ask” questions vs. the coach “shared” with the client ?

The test did seem more complex than what the practice info lead to believe
Congratulations Thanks for sharing. I have a problem for registering and have a time for exam i wonder if you can help me with that.
