I’m an artist/singer/producer/performer based in canada and have been making music on the computer for about 4 years. Even though I've played instruments my whole life, I didn't really think I could make music until I went to art school and started in the sound art program there. Then I got hooked! I’ve been focusing on making music my full-time career for almost a year now. Random facts about me: I love dogs and torture myself by looking at adoptable dogs online even tho I can’t adopt one yet, my favourite colour is pink, and I speak English and Danish.

This is a practice session for a live set I had last week. I use the Push 3 to record loops and to tweak the effects that I have on each track and on the master track. @@tomfoolery4077 hey! I usually start with all the drums on one track when I’m composing, and then I move each percussive element onto its own track when I start mixing
Hi did you paint they Novation controller key pink yourself... I looked to see of there was a limited edition! lol
@@markhenke2709 hehe yes I did paint them :) using masking tape and spray paint. The white keys are actually also painted - a light blue/grey but it’s kinda hard to tell in the video

WOW! That sustained pad in the very beginning...is that reverb coming from the Push?
@@immersivezen nope that’s all the Atlantis and the sealegs - mostly the sealegs for creating that sustained pad :)
@@lunr_girl Thanks. Will the Push create that sort of reverb? I'm thinking of getting one.

@@millyhunter I recommend checking out Ari’s take blog or his book “how to make it in the new music business” (and his podcast of the same name). Honestly I don’t have that many tips - I’ve been lucky enough to know some people who have asked me to play! So I guess that’s my advice is to try and make some connections with musicians in your genre where you live :) But Ari’s take is super helpful, def check it out. Good luck!

@@lunr_girl mainly the sealegs reverb and delay, it sounds almost granular. i’d love to see you play with the knobs and settings as you go. absolutely love the sound you’ve found yourself in!
@@thesantisilva ahh I see! yeah I wish I had a top-down camera angle to show… sorry about that. I’ll try and get that going for future videos soon. as far as I can remember I had the sealegs on the tape delay type with feedback about halfway up and time at about 1/3 up. I think the thing that makes it sound granular is when I press “freeze” and it just gets caught in a loop. Honestly the sealegs is magic and it’s almost impossible not to make a lovely lush sound with it! hope that’s helpful. Lmk if you have more questions :)

Just out curiosity, do you run into any crashing issues when performing? Just contemplating on whether to pick up one as for live sets
@@moonboie nope luckily I’ve never had a crash when performing! 🤞 I think making sure not to have toooo many 3rd party plugins should keep that from happening :)
